    So I don't see a total replacement of NY Taxis. What I could see is that there would be an impact. The one thing that would be need is that the ride-sharing cars be given exclusive parking spots. And you would need a phone app to open the doors and start the engines. My suggestion is that all of these cars be Electric.

Also since the cost of generating the next MW of solar power is zero which is less than the cost of generating the next MW of coal power, the coal power plant must burn coal, solar power plants can undersell coal power plants. This means as solar power plants increase generation coal power plant will sell less and less power. There will come a point where they will go out of business.

    on the internet. PCs are cheap enough that you can create a separate network for sensitive information. My suggestion is a bunch of Linux Xterm or PC terms connected to clustered servers. The system must be totally disconnected from the internet and disconnected from the corporate network.You store money in a vault. You don't just leave it hanging all over the place. And no you can't protected it no matter how good your firewall is.

    It doesn't make sense unless a large percentage of dementia was caused by an infectious disease that has run its course. The disease does not have to happen 10 or 20 years ago. It could have happened 40 to 50 years ago and its effect are only noticed in seniors.

    they have written the same gloom and doom about automation. And so far all of the job loses were local in time and in the specify business. But the job losses were not systematic. The only way this would be a problem is that automation would be in all businesses including services and that the capital cost of the automatic and the maintenance cost would be much less that the cost of labor. Of course if this happen the economy would collapse due to lack of demand. No workers equal no customers.

    If you factor in the "Cost of Living" you will see that the pay worldwide are comparable. The IT worker in India although getting less pay is living the same life style as an IT worker in America with a few perks like a housekeeper and a yard boy. On the social ladder he is a bit higher than an IT worker here. BTW, the economy only works well if workers get paid well because someone has to buy all of the stuff the economy is producing. A lot of people like to blow this off as if it is some sort of communist propaganda but the fact that consumption must match production is fundamental otherwise the economy goes bad.

People left farming for the factory and then they left the factory to provide service. All that will happen with AI is that the service provided will be more and more personal.
