Due March 23rd? Of this year? That's less than a quarter away. I'm not some industry insider, but I try to keep up with the new gadgets like this and I've not heard a word about this device.
Could this be some cheap, quick alternative for those of use that have complained so loudly about the shortcommings of the GBA (like the lack of some kind of lighting)?
The way SPAMmers seem to outsmart anti-SPAM filters with every new advancement, they just might make a big leap in AI to get past these new filtering techniques.
We could make it end up like another Shoemaker/Levy by using one of our ballistic nuclear missles. It'll give astronomers something to "Ohh and Aww" about until something collides naturally.
I didn't see a reply to this OT so I thought I might step in and provide some FYI. Anime music videos are generally anime clips set to any kind of "popular" musical score. Most of the ones I've seen have been something (for instance) like various Tenchi Muyo clips with a track from American pop bands or singers like No Doubt. I'm sure JPop could be substituted though I haven't seen any.
In any case, it's mostly fan generated and is distributed through fan clubs, web sites, FTP, IRC, Kazaa, and Gnutella. Just do a search for something like "anime music video".
This doesn't look like that much more of screen space that a true dual screen set-up would provide. I just looks like they're trying to cater to those with desktop dual screen setups without really providing what it's implying.
And why do the images on the front page say "click for larger TIFF images" when they bring up JPGs. Sounds like some dual screen elitist crap.
The human mind is pliable and adaptable enough to overcome these simple challenges in abstract thought. Humanity was able to eventually understand complex language then reading and writing. The UI of ancient times must have baffling to many and I'm sure a few of them balked it and called it cruft. Aren't computers and their UI just the next step in information and communication evolution? Should we keep "backwards compatibility" in these new interfaces? I don't think so. Move on. If you can't adapt, you'll be left behind and the gene pool will be better off. Darwinism at it's best.
I've stopped bying CDs a long time ago. They're a rip-off. Prices for CDs have done anything but drop and the content is getting more vapid. THe labels have been ass-raping it's own consumers for decades even before copy protection. Look how the likes of Columbia House and BMG suckered poor innocents into their mail order services. They got your attention with a cheap deal and hooked you in for a good couple of years. They sent you crap everymonth weather you liked it not keaving some with an enormous bill for quite poossibly the worst music ever produced.
Bah! Damn all the labels to hell. Let rise the new distribution for the people.

This won't change their minds. These people are never going to believe we landed on the moon. They'll just convince themselves that TansOrbital is a puppet company. I'm not even sure if they'd believe the whole deal if they went up themselves, took off their helmets and died from exposure to the vacuum and cold.
The public sector, and I'm speaking as an employee of a large land grant university, is less volitile but with less opportunities. I'm pretty confident I'll have my job 20 years from now. That's what I want: stability. But this is without sacrifice. I make less than what I could in the private sector. And it looks like I'll have to wait my turn to move up the ladder instead of using backstabbing manuvers to kill of the competition.
On the other hand, the public sector is the place to go to make lots of money fast. If you have the desire and the will, you can be CEO before the end of the week... which is what everyone else is doing, so you have to watch your back.
These two sectors have completely different missions. One is self-serving, existing only to make money. The other was born for the betterment of society where profits are not the objective.
The RIAA has asked Rep. Berman (D-CA and entertainment industry monkey) to amend their recently proposed bill to include web media outlets including Salon.com . Asked if this decision was brought about by Salon's recent article dismissing the impact Napster had on the recording industry, RIAA spoksperson, M. Stalin, replied "It has everything to do with it. This kind of libel provokes terrorism in the form of music piracy. We intend to defend our country in the only manner we can: shutting down irresponsible media."
No matter what side you take on the issue, the RIAA (and MPAA) are getting too powerful. If they win this, it seems like there's no stopping them. This is looking like it's really going to pass. These guys have to be stopped before thay can't be.
The FAQ says ROMs can be obtained from mame.dk. Unfortunately, they've stopped offering ROMs for quite some time. Best they offer now is some nifty info about the games and a couple of links to ROM link sites.
It makes sense to me. Wasn't one of the problems with a.kids TLD was that different countries have different opinions on what is acceptable content for children? Now all the puritanical moms and dads of the good ol' US of A have some place safe on the web to babysit their kids.
I wouldn't be too quick to judge the admins with this one. I know the last time I tried to impliment a more secure password format, the users whined their way up to my boss and demanded that it be changed back. Despite my insistance for a more secure environment, they made me change it back. It was too much for them to remember more than 6 charaters with non-alphanumerics every 90 days. And these are academic types.
I suppose it wouldn't be so bad if these legislators were voting the way their constituents wanted them to or even their concious. I could understand completly if Coble truely felt this is the best for his district and the US. However, the fact that money from the industry that this Act has so greatly benefitted taints so many of it's supporters makes my stomach turn. Time and again we hear how this kind of influence has been eliminated from our government and still it happens.
This does not by any stretch of the imagination mean that this is the next OS to come from Microsoft. Remember how 2000 was supposed to replace 98 and how it wasn't ready for primetime when Microsoft needed to fluff their coffers? Remember what we got out of that? Microsoft Me!!! It's goning to be near impossible for MS to mess up the NT line, but I wouldn't put it past them to slather on some new features on top of XP Home making it a useless POC and call it their new OS.
Saw this in Tiger Direct's catalog. Seems to be an "updated" Tandy M100 repackaged and beefed up. First time I saw it I immediatly pulled out my credit card, but held back until I heard more about it.
...was keeping Anderson around this season. She felt like a third wheel. They should have cut the cord and let Patrick and Gish start fresh. This menage et trois doesn't feel right.
I'll be interested to see what other "projects" Carter has up his sleeve -- hopefully the other sleeve; the one he didn't pull "Gunmen" from.

Right from SFC's mouth.

I think it depends on your goals.

Anyone have one of these?

Now if they could only try this with a Cube... that would be sweet.
