    Instead of null routing just dont allow any packets originating in your network

    Then the main issue remaining is the border routers, you can not trust the other routers so the only thing you can do is fix your stack.

    Its not good to think spoofed packets wont get in to you're network. They will and if you havent fixed the stack problems you're in deep shit!

    That is indeed the case at the moment but they are going to change to linux as there primary os with Windows Mobile as an extra for business users who wish/need integration with exchange, etc..

    It looks like their server is not compatible with ApacheBench after 500 request's the server denies access. Maybe people where benchmarking their servers regulary.

    Cant live of $500?? My rent is over 500 euro, which I split with my girlfriend but then there are still taxes, food, gas, electricity, water, etc...

    Maybe if I skip the food cut my internet and phone I can make it.

    You should change /dev/ROOT to you root partition, in my case that's /dev/hda3

    Microsoft indeed can optimize the kernel. But I want to change to kernel to MY application.

    And no I wont hire microsoft to do that, I want to show my optimizations to several people who can critize and improve it. I want the source and the ability to improve it!

    Windows does still have a GUI loaded which uses up memory and cpu cycles.

    When you want to do large computations the biggest cost is the hardware. So you want to make optimal use of your hardware by using software optimized for that hardware. Rewriting networkcard software can give you improvements of 10-20% for your specific application.

    On linux you can remove interrupts from the kernel if your app only needs polling. Stuff like that will never be possible with a closed source solution.

    Lots of ppl stop using solaris cause of this.

    Just wait until longhorn comes out. Then XP SP2 will have some exploits aswell. This is just a microsoft consipracy to make us upgrade. Dont believe the people who claim microsoft developers spend more time on new features then on creating good code.

    Linking is not illegal in The Netherlands. The police also said in a press statement the raid was for distributing. I dont know if they did distributed, but it might be that the maintainers used their servers to spread files among themselfs. If so they are fucked. If the servers only contain hash-codes their save

    It probarbly is, I did send an email to a guy the akamai noc and told him to execute a lttile attached application on all the dns servers and he would receive free porn if he did.

    Iam now trying to send the porn but the mail server is unreachable.

    Since when does BT decide what is legal and what isnt?

    In the netherlands we've got a site from a few pedophiles who want to make it legal to have sex with kids. They are not having sex with children (they claim that at least) so it is legal. What if BT decides to consider that ilegal and block it?

    If someone is doing something ilegal and BT notices that they should go to the police or a judge to have the persons involved arrested.

    (My personal view is that the maintainers of that site are sick perverts)
