    This is nice but the realities faced by the Army at war will mean the only working versions of this will be found in parades and is one was silly enough to put one in combat its life expectancy with be measured in hours.

    I did not set the criterion but it still is true that if you have either nukes or space programs then you are not a developing nation.

    The PRC is not a good example.
    Never mind the environmental disaster that was the Three Gorges Dam, in the PRC they have orange air, the highest particulate counts in the world and this:

    The easy part is saying we need to do it, whatever IT is.
    The largest polluters in the world are still ramping up as their economies rise and their governments have no real interest in this except as an economic weapon.
    Then there is getting it down to the street.
    Sure, the average person on the street would like to save the planet but is not willing to give up comforts like a large screen TV, large house with oil or gas heating,
    The solutions put forward all have their gotcha's, solar and wind have heavy environmental impacts with the disposal of obsolete panels and blades.
    Hybrid and electric cars have expensive and hard to dispose of batteries.
    What to do?

    The US government, unfortunately has a history of vendettas against those who defy those in in power.
    Some examples include Assange, Mitnick, Dillinger and Bonnie and Clyde.

    If Facebook is going after pics it thinks are posted by Russian hackers what about the ones posted by hackers from China, Vietnam, Israel, etc?

    It was a nice way to slip in the Russian hacker thing. The DNC has been looking for Russian hackers since Hillary complained about them. One wonders why Hillary did this since she had a lot ob business dealings with Putin's Russia during here SOS stint so why would they want to hack her campaign?

    One would think the Russian hackers would want Hillary and friends to win since the Clinton's were so close to Putin. Doing highly paid speaking engagement and helping contract through the system in the US.

  19. There have been all sorts of studies that show that 4, tens makes more sense than 5 eights especially if you can stagger the odd day.
    A four day work week can increase productivity and reduce traffic, stress, etc.
    No one will do them though because why would execs want to pay for a 10 hour day when they are already getting more than that for free out of most workers in the US.

    South Asians can do like what they did with tech certs and give everyone a passing grade and send them to the US.

    We went to no, less tariffs and then went past that.
    The US subsidies the export of labor and manufacturing already.
    This is part of the reason why it is so "cheap" to send manufacturing to the PRC, Vietnam, etc. and to outsource.
    That also helps is that these countries basically have slave labor and no environmental considerations when it comes to dumping.
    Besides, US trading partners never really lowered their tariffs and played games with taxes so it became one way.
