Haha, how convenient. OpenSSH leads in a survey conducted by the OpenSSH people. Who would have thought...
People here on/. don't want good music. They wan't good mass produced music. You want to be led like sheep only you've realized the current sheperd wants to fuck you all.
There's plenty of good music out there, independent labels, clubs, "the net", old CD-s, hell you can even pick up an instrument and play whatever you like. But of course these methods require work, and it's harder to find communities to fit in where others share the same music tastes.
"Please consider the fact that Blizzard is suing people who write software to interoperate with theirs when deciding whether you want to purchase this game."
How about: Don't support Blizzard's dirty tactics, download the game on your local p2p network !
Ignore them. Yes, it's hard, that's why there are so many cheaters and trolls. If everyone collectively stopped playing when they see a cheater or troll they would go away.
But unfortunately most players cannot tell good players from cheaters, trolls from newbies, and will keep giving the attention the cheaters/trolls want so bad.
Yeah, they made some PR stunts concerning security, but until stuff like this starts affecting their bottom line, they won't care. There are just too many morons out there buying their stuff, so the situation won't change anytime soon.
And don't give me that crap about being forced into using it. Noone is going to hold a gun against your head and say: use explorer or die. If your employer makes you use stuff you hate, then you're just a lame pushover and you deserve what you get.
Why should they ? Just because some nerds on slashdot don't like MS ?
MS is doing really well. That may change in the future, but for now I have to say they know what they are doing, so whatever open source policy they come up with is probably best for them and their shareholders.
BSD's are from people who got together to write the most unusable piece of software they could come up with. From their installers, through their shell choices to the port system. Braindamage galore.
It may do the job for a few "chosen ones" who ardently guard their secret kernel tuning parameters instead of making them default. For everyone else it's not a surprise that BSD is dying.
You don't need to be a Malda to own something really pathetic, just get BSD ! Obsolescence and braindamage just a download away !
Geforce 3d performance is great, but the 2d quality is just too awful for me. I've tried many cards, and returned them all !
I'm waiting for a card that has good 3d _and_ 2d quality at the same time. The new radeon doesn't seem to have good drivers yet, I wonder what the matrox parhelia will be like.
thanks for the link, I liked this one better: along with the shadowy and superbly named Darth Sidious. (Who else? Darth Nuendo? Darth Vasion? Darth Tergalactic-Warfare?)
I've been quite spoiled for this movie, reading the script and spy reports, downloading the pics etc. It can be quite frustrating to know that a couple of my favourite scenes has been cut from the final, so I'm staying spolier free for EPIII.
Just for the record, dpkg -i doesn't sort out anything, it's just complains if a dependency is missing. From the manpage: "(actually, checking is performed, but only warnings about conflicts are given, nothing else)"
I don't get it why people are so harsh on the paperclip. You can change it to a cute little doggie ! The doggie has helped me lot in my productivity and in making my desktop frendlier.
Yes it is. It extends Internet Explorer, where the spyware is keeping track of all of the sites you visit and sends your trail to a centralized host. There, your surfing habits are analyzed and sold to online marketers.

And now to Final Jeopardy...
Write anything !

Whine whine I want something for nothing whine whine gimme cool free stuff whine whine
The truth is, it is hard to reach production quality in an open source project that isn't popular enough.
I use CVS for my pet projects but I wouldn't trust my work stuff to it, thank god we have a real VCS for "big bucks" at work.
They don't care.

Attention, this is not a troll.
I've tried them all , even PicoBSD.

> I'm sure you could squeeze out at least four or maybe even five dollars.
You think you're funny, but that's the actual yearly budget of Debian.
Mozilla RC3 ?
1.0 is already on Kazaa !
With the Internet2 I could download those looped Scorpion King trailers disguised as AOTC 8000 times faster !
What's the deal with the legacy movie ?
They show FEAR in big letters then they show some gummi bear looking monster.
Who are these people ?
> The lesson: never, ever download something executable off of a public P2P network like Kazaa, Gnutella, etc.
Don't forget, gnutella runs on non-braindead platforms too.

From the manpage:

Um, that would be trademark infringement.
But anyway, I don't think Word is a trademark, that would be ludicrous.
Check this page for more.

How does the plan 9 resident storage compare to the QNX qnet transparent network storage ?
