    Why is it so hard to imagine that it might be an issue to get unwanted attention from a physically larger potentially threatening person, or a person in a financial position of power over you?

    That's not hard to imagine, but plenty of women do want attention from tall rich guys, and are waiting for them to make the first move. How are you going to tell the difference ?

    Of course it would make a difference. If nobody knows your gender, you won't be treated any differently. Problem solved.

    You could make up a fake name but at that point the fact that they have to do that, when men don't, is already inherently hostile.

    Sure, but at least you're coding. And after you've become famous as an excellent developer, you can reveal your true name.

    I don't know which scientists you listen too, but the last time I heard from those they refused to share exactly that because of "reasons".

    The biggest gap is here: "In the survey, 95 percent of respondents were men", even though an on-line open source collaboration is the perfect place for a female developer to be judged purely on the quality of the code rather than gender. Just pick a gender neutral alias and start coding.

    Is Google's job to return the most relevant results, the most relevant free results, or the most relevant results weighted by their cost for access?

    I would love to be able to set that in my preferences. But in any case, GoogleBot needs access to the page in order to index it.

    They killed 89 in the Bataclan theatre. They killed 192 in the Madrid train bombings. There are enough crowded places that a handful of people with automatic weapons can create a massacre.

    Since this only applies to flights to foreign countries, it's hard to avoid travel by plane

    There are a couple within distance of train/car, and I can avoid nearly all the others.

    My plan is to avoid travel by plane as much as I can. And if I really have to travel, then I'm going to leave my laptop at home. I don't trust the baggage handlers not to steal it, so checking in is not an option.

    Not that hard.. the current crop of terrorists are all 2nd-3rd generation immigrants that have never shown any desire to adopt western values. It's very likely that the next generations of immigrants aren't going to do any better, especially since they can just move into the current Muslim dominated neighborhoods, and stay far from kuffar. And that's not even counting IS militants among the immigrants.

    If you stop being afraid the terrorists lose.. It's their goal to terrorize people to make you afraid and make people want things like this to be put in place.

    No, their goal is to take over society, install Sharia law, and kill all the infidels. If you stop being afraid, and don't attempt to stop them, they'll only reach their goal sooner.

    It'd be easy if anyone would actually confirm the transaction before the price went through the floor.

    If you're selling 30k BTC you can afford a slightly bigger fee. Or you can wait for a solution to the fee problem, and sell your BTC for 10 times the amount.

    Daily Bitcoin trade volume is well over 100k BTC, on most days, and over 200k BTC on high volume days. Selling 30k BTC would be fairly easy, actually.

    Of course not. As long as you don't lose the sense of urgency, which is a real risk.
