The gaming industry might be in decline
It's not in decline at all, it's just not experienceing exponential growth like it has, but in the world of Wall Street if your growth isn't insane you may as well be dead. For example, Microsoft has never made money off of the XBox and Nintendo made a huge chunk of change off the Gamecube. Because Microsoft sold a few hundred thousand more than Nintendo, somehow Microsoft is a "winner" and Nintendo was the "loser". Voodoo Economics at their best.
So can you enlighten us as to why Steve Jobs at NeXT has a different agenda than Steve Jobs at Apple? You make it sound like there's a different person that headed each company.
Gassee really screwed up because he thought the exit of Steve Jobs left an opening for another Steve Jobs. However, MULTIPLE books not even ABOUT Gassee make it clear that he was just playing visionary instead of actually being one. The only truly fascinating work Gassee ever did at Apple was to take apart and put back together a IIcx on stage.
I have a friend who uses PCs that went and bought a Mac mini last night just to run Windows on it. The reasoning? Why buy a stank Dell when you can get a fetch Mac.
Enterprises won't start using Apple hardware just because it looks cool or runs Mac OS X.
Hmm, funny because I know a lot of companies that send their road warriors out with PowerBooks now, even though the office is Windows. Price for performance (as well as durability) is better for a PowerBook (and MacBook now). Windows laptops cost less. Do you think it's because they're made better than 'Books? Hmm. have you seen how much "ruggedised" WinTel laptops cost? Apple already rubber-mounts their hard drives and includes Sudden Motion Sensor, and that's just in the iBooks.
Well, now vendors are just going to tell these people "Please install Windows" and they won't feel guilty about it.
They don't now. They just say they don't support Macs and they give you some shit about development costs. Look, if you're having that much trouble paying the bills writing software for 95% of the market, you may as well pack it up and go home if you're saying it costs to much to develop for a market that pirates less and pays more for software.
We're talking about Apple here, if they wanted, they could write an HFS+ driver for Windows, but they're not going to do that. More than anything this is probably a huge selling point for people to move to a Mac. No, you don't have to re-buy all of your Windows applications until you are ready, you just have to reboot to use them.
Actually, it's a huge incentive TO develop for Macs (especially since every Mac comes with a free IDE). Yay Apple that they can sell a developer a Mac and a PC in one. No more having to buy two computers for cross-platform development. Now if they would only re-release the Cocoa libraries for Windows...
Secondly, the MacOS logo is still color in Boot Camp, but the other logo is greyscale. One is the new hotness, the other is old and busted. Graphic design messages don't get more clear.
Apple does the same thing with the Classic logo, so you're absolutely right.
That's nice, what do I have to do to get them to replace my 3 year old iBook with a new Mac Book Pro?
I dunno how you'd manage that but Apple replaced my iBook G3 700 with an iBook G4 1.33 after I broke my power adapter off in it and it came back with the logic board damaged from that repair, then it came back with the wrong optical drive, then it came back with the new logic board damaged when they replaced the optical drive.
Even after the screaming and heartache, it was teh best $117 I've ever spent (the cost of the power adapter repair).
so the results support both the Atheist and orthodox Christian worldviews, and are only troubling to wishy-washy new agey-types that believe thinking happy thoughts should magically help other people. wee.
Except the difference between a prayer and a spell is that you actually have to BELIEVE in prayer. I don't know of any recognised religion where you can just say a prayer and it's supposed to be answered or considered. You actually have to BELIEVE in what you are praying about/for. They just measured that people said a prayer.
Just use the 'browse device' feature of your OS's bluetooth support and grab it out of/pictures/ - ten seconds, start to finish, I do it with mine all the time.
As opposed to a REAL camera that automatically downloads all your pictures when you connect it then erases those pictures from the memory. You enjoy your retro flashback where you have to coax data out of every device, I'm not going back to 1990
Cingular isn't a completely liberal company, but it's a hell of a lot better than Verizon
Cingulare makes a HUGE chunk of money from being a virtual server. They are the backbone for most prepay phones. Cingular provides the services and the third party provides the payment and support infrastructure.
LOTS of tech analysts have predicted that the future of cellphone companies is to be a virtual server.
I thought my (just-turned) 13 yo neice would get a kick out of Slashdot because of the OMG PONIES, she did. She now has it bookmarked because she liked reading the REAL articles. So, it's JUST as mysoginistic to think that women OR men, would NOT like Slashdot because of the colours and the OMG PONIES.
my nephew's ten, and a huge fan of family guy. he thinks the simpsons are a poor imitation of the former - not funny, and not worth watching.
I'm 29 and, except that I know Simpsoms came first, I agree. I'd like to see a movie version of the Simpsons mainly because it would be a great way to wrap up the series. The brand of satire that the Simpsons has went out with the 90's.

Mail.app and iCal does this on Mac. You click on the ics file and iCal asks if you would like to add the event.
Here
Nintendo is the new Apple.

Absolutely, and at WWDC Apple can say, "See, this is why we said you needed to transition to XCode."

Just to clarify, which of your statements is correct? People don't care to buy an Apple machine that runs Windows or they do?

This is sort of a delicious irony because I remember in the 90's the big question about any computer system was "Will it run MS Office?"
You're absolutely right. Apple is just a company. Steve Jobs is the God!

There's no scientific measure for true belief.
It may interest you to know there's a pretty substantial non-American Slashdot membership.

Case in point, she asked where the pink went.
The kids finally age? Marge gets pregnant? They move from Springfield?
