    Try using a car. I recently moved to a small sussex town, and found an open network in a few minutes when I needed internet access to find an estate agent. There are two open networks in my new street too.

    Actually, I've found Cessnas very reliable. I think you'll find a lot of these crashes are pilot error.

    Great example. A common cause of accidents is pilots flying into weather that they know they shouldn't, because they want to get home. When you are flying at 5000ft, the weather doesn't just jump out at you.

    Nothing wrong with the hardware.

    That doesn't happen here in the uk, since the vehicle is seen as cool, distinctive and effective.

    On the other hand the usa motor market that seems to think driving tanks with the same fuel economy as cars from 80 years ago is ok - they get laughed at, by everyone else in the world. Attitudes are changing this way, thankfully, and maybe one day the usa will 'get it'.

    Because a small, simple mcirocontroller connected to it is listening for a coded signal. RC aeroplanes use this technique. Any electronics enthusiast could build such a device.

    We don't carry phones so that we can dial 911. We carry them so we can do work or keep in touch with our buddies.

    If you are in the USA, I guess the gun you carry negates the need to call 911...

    This has already been reported. There is nothing new here, really: it's just an efficient transformer.

    My concern is just how efficient will it be? We waste huge amounts of energy already with directly coupled chargers that are left plugged in and powered when not in use. This is just a *less* efficient version of the same.

    So, anyone have any figures for efficiencies compared to direct connection chargers?
