I was wondering how long it would be before someone brought the RICO act into this. It's what finally stopped DirecTV from suing everyone that bought a Smartcard reader.
That's not the experience I've had in my area. The local loop charges are the same here as they were in 99-2000, and for dedicated (not burstable) the internet fee is also pretty much the same.
Thanks Microsoft... When I want to change my IP address, burn a DVD, or open Mozilla, I want a wizard to make sure I'm doing everything correctly.
I don't care if my OS has 3D icons or fancy clear windows... I want it to be out of the way, and just RUN THE PROGRAMS I WANT! That's the whole point of the OS. Not to take up 4 gig of hard drive space because Grandma wants to print pictures of her grandchildren. Stop hogging all my system RAM and let me choose my preferred programs to look at pictures, play MP3s, and watch videos- none of which come with your OS.
I still miss my Nokia 6160, which I got after reading a Slashdot review way back in 1998. That thing was a workhorse, I had it for 5 years before foolishly upgrading on a whim. And it still wouldn't be huge by most of today's standards. Nice simple phone, great reception and battery life. At the time it was the most advanced one on the market, and I think the first one to include games (snake, anyone?).
They Changed their minds about that. But there's probably just not that many left, I think Blizzcon was about 8000 people. However when they're on ebay, they go around $400.
I've played guitar (non-professional) for over 15 years, and I love the game. I was very suprised, as I was not expecting to be impressed by it. So definitely give it a try.
While not like playing a real guitar, someone that has done so gets quite a head start advantage in the game.
And it's great for parties. Now everyone has to fight between Karaoke Revolution and Guitar Hero. (And usually split between the sexes)
Any IT people try to search their knowledge base? Of course you have. Which means you probably know it's easier most of the time to type any error message in on Google, which usually finds the correct KB article.
Then again, hopefully their KB doesn't use the same engine as MSN.
My dad had an old Model T with an actual engine starting crank. Do it wrong and it could backfire and break your arm. I wouldn't call it convenient either, unless you're some sort of armwrestling champion.
Thankfully it also had the electric starter option.
I got mine over 2 years ago with the $170 deal posted here.
At first it was mostly for WiFi scanning and SSH, like others had mentioned. Worked great at DefCon for checking my e-mail without having to worry about a laptop. Most games I found were either not good, or just poorly controllable because of the design.
It then became an overpriced USB key, since I bought a 256MB SD card for it. But being able to SCP and SSH to it is still a neat concept.
And now all I really use it for is a password manager. Occasionally still use Kismet now and then, but now I have a laptop with much better range.
I was the hero of the local CoCo club when I was 12 because I managed to make a "backup" of the Zaxxon game casette tape, which had semi-copy protection and couldn't be resaved from memory like most other TRS-80 games could.
In one of the biggest forehead slappers ever, the cries of "Wow, how did you do it?" by the older grizzled computer geeks was replied to by:
Every single work e-mail I send is legitimate. (as long as I can SSH home and use PINE to send all the personal e-mail I want) Who really wants to use Outlook anyway?
Last year, I was able to boot from and read data off of my 20 year old Seagate ST-225 (MFM) hooked to a Tandy CoCo 3.
I was actually quite amazed that it worked. It was fun seeing all the old BBS numbers were still saved in my telecom program.
Rat shit, bat shit, dirty old twat.
Sixty nine assholes tied in a knot.
Hooray, lizard shit, fuck!
I agree, it looked like he required no effort at all to pull it back.
I'd like to see it hit with a 175lb crossbow!

Maybe because my point was to get a discussion started, as is the point of this forum!

I always love to have as many backround processes running as possible!
I agree with you. Woring in IT in St. Louis, it's well known that Roberts is a crook. Savvis and B.I.G. anyone?

Trust me, you don't want a free soda job. I had one 3 years ago, gained 15 pounds in like 6 months. Didn't even occur to me what was causing it!
Finally figured out to go back to coffee!
All empires fall.
(We can only hope)

Doesn't look like it has the weight distribution to fetch me a beer.
I've always been up to date on current events, especially in tech, but I've never heard of this site before in my life. How long has it been around?
Though I've never understood what the deal is with Pokemon either, and this looks like similar stuff.
Hm, I have a Michael Jackson "Bad" picture disc.
Guess I should give it to Goodwill.

I hope that the pictured hookah is only used for "tobacco", otherwise your DDR scores could be affected. ;-)
Dang, beaten to it. I actually managed to remember something from high school physics class!
Sounds like The Sega Channel
