I'm immediately reminded of the opening scene in "Serenity" where The Operative is describing to the admin official how, in the old days, when someone failed so completely, as he had, that they would commit suicide. The official retorts about being in a more modern era or some such and The Operative... helps him do things the way they used to.
100 miles, you say? Seems a bit arbitrary. Almost like someone just pulled the number out of their ass. Or looked at a map to see where huge portions of the population lived and figured they'd just unilaterally start excluding those inconvenient Amendments.
I wish they'd be done with it already and just state that the Constitution doesn't apply within 100,000 miles of Washington D.C. because, you know, terrorists.
No, I couldn't care less about Godwin. Not all of us give a shit about mod points. In this particular instance, nothing about it was normal. They went out of their way to go after the guy, even after being asked to drop it. There are actual crimes that they could be prosecuting, but this is the crap they go for instead.
"...blame the system and aim to reform the system; don’t think that this was just two or three prosecutors that were doing something unusual. It wasn’t."
Soooooo, if I understand correctly, she was just following orders...
No, I'm not going to go look it up and yes, I'm sure it's been asked before. What, exactly, am I paying a monthly subscription for?*
*Actually, I'm not. I just moved and I elected to not transfer my service. There are better things to do with my time than watch TV. That includes reading Slashdot. Let that sink in. Posting on message board is a more worthwhile endeavor than watching the tripe spewing from Hollywood. You, personally, have made it such a miserable experience that I'm simply no longer willing to put up with your garbage. So, on a personal note, thank you.
For fuck's sake just shut up and leave politics out of it. You were going with a great point and I agreed with you. Then you had to ruin it (and of course I still agree wih your point) and douche out. Thanks.
If the argument against my comment was that it was over a decade ago, then you missed my point. Trust, once violated, is exceedingly difficult to regain, especially when you don't change your ways.
I'm sorry but bullshit. In the RPG-industry (and probably others), which have been doing POD/e-books for at least a decade, it's always understood that e-versions cost half the print-versions. Amazon kept doing that. The big-name publishers are just greedy.
You know you're attacking the victim, right? And making generalizations about him? And notice how he didn't agree with his father and moved out over it, and yet you're claiming he towed the line? Nice.
You seriously have no idea what the fuck you're talking about, do you. "My arm where the IV was injected with radiation..." ?! Your arm was not injected with radiation. Your arm was injected with Contrast. Were you listening to the Rad Techs at all? It went something like this "OK, I'm going to inject you with contrast now. You'll feel it spreading warmly through you. Take a deep breath...and hold it... (as the scan goes), OK, breathe."
Oh, my qualification? I work on GE Lightspeed and Toshiba Aquillion CTs for a living.
And I thought the post you were responding to was ignorant. You really believe that term extensions and crackdowns are due to the pirates? You really believe that overkill is better than nothing? Newsflash -- You are part of the problem.

Lame. Do not want.
aaaaaaaand that's still a key.
If he was physically and/or mentally unable to take action (your words) then he had no business driving.
I've lived in Arizona for 10 years. I don't recall ever celebrating or observing Cesar Chavez Day.
At Intel it's 4 crews working 12 hour shifts: 4 on, 3 off, 3 on, 4 off. Most of our PMs were run-based, not time-based.
Kind of like you've done with various computing tools?

This one is pretty close:

What was the running gag here, about the Martian overlord extolling his people to withstand the invasion and what not?

You keep using that word. It does not mean what you think it means. Quit being ignorant and take the time to educate yourself.
spoken by somewhat who needs to get laid... ... lighten up, Francis.

yeah, yeah, replying to myself is bad form...

Is it because Microsoft is a convicted predatory monopolist?

Fact: Racism cuts both ways.
Pretty sure it's Kokusai, with a K, not H. We went by HiKE (Hi Kay Eee). I worked there for almost five years.
