There is nothing in TFA about the sequel other than mentioning that there will be one. They link to a blog which contains the text of TFA. the hobbit blog so you can probably read the article there, but it wont tell you much you don't already know. Lots of studio execs saying nice things about Peter Jackson that they don't believe.

The post by Anil Dash seems pretty straightforward. On the other hand, you seem to be really working hard to get his words to mean something other than what he is saying. Personally, I don't care. I was just pointing out what he said. Bringing up people you've never heard of who are spreading fud is really just confusing the issue - because I'm guessing you have heard of Anil Dash and it is only the words in his or her post that I'm worried about.

I'll throw it out there again - just for fun. We'll be adding additional paid benefits for people who've paid for commercial licenses for Movable Type, with benefits like improved technical support and custom add-ons such as plugins or themes.

What seems key to me is that this isn't a discussion of what exists now but what will be added. And when those things are listed every single one is plural. So - don't worry about terminology or getting technical or trying to fight fud. The bottom line is that the people who make this product intend to sell a version that contains custom plugins and themes that wont be available to those who don't pay. Unless Anil doesn't actually know what's going on with MT. Which could be - I don't know who this person is.

Which is it? Am I wrong or will there be plugins only available to commercial customers? Because your reply says both. Either they are all free - and then I'm wrong, or some are only available if you pay and then I'm not wrong.

Wont you be doing the same on the other platforms though? and from what I've seen wii games are a bit cheaper than the other two. I agree with you about the innovative game play - but if the console alone started at $600 or more, it wouldn't be selling like it is. Nintendo really found a sweet spot teaming up that new style of play with a great price point.

  11. Re:Couple Thoughts on Where are Wii? · · Score: 3, Interesting

Every time the Wii shortage comes up on the dot, there are people who say they are easy to get. And maybe in certain locales that is true. But when even my local paper notices people hanging out at stores, following the UPS guy and such - I think it is safe to say that these little suckers are difficult to attain in many places. Reggie Fils Aimes has publicly said they wont meet demand through the holidays. And I don't think he'd be saying that if there were any chance of them ramping up production any further.

  12. Re:Couple Thoughts on Where are Wii? · · Score: 4, Insightful

I didn't even think of that. People can be such weasels. Though it's good by me I guess. I told my kids that if we could get our hands on a wii at regular retail after the holidays, we'd get one. I'm letting them save up and we are going in on it together. I figure it's a good chance for them to learn about money and what not.

  14. Couple Thoughts on Where are Wii? · · Score: 5, Insightful

Two things jump out at me in this article. The first is that this once again proves that Gartner is worse than useless. The second is that they left out one element. Take a look at Amazon or over at ebay. There are literaly thousands of Wiis that have been purchased by people for no other reason than turning around and selling them above retail. This has been going on for quite a while, though the prices have really spiked in recent weeks. I think they were averaging around $350 on Amazon for quite a while, as opposed to the over $500 now. And the number for sale there has greatly increased. I think some people may end up still holding them after the holidays though, because part of the appeal of the wii is the price. If I'm going to drop $600 on a console - I might as well get a 360 with some games or a PS3 that can play all those PS2 games out there.

Here's the issue - your sense of humor is broken. Retardation is not funny - but my joke is.

Let's hit wikipedia real quick: Today's Feng Shui schools teach that it is the ancient Chinese practice of placement and arrangement of space to achieve harmony with the environment. Fen Shui originated in China. The picture came from China. See the connection? That my statement is absurd is what makes it funny. That Feng Shui would be banned by the Chinese government makes the joke that much funnier. This does not 'diss' (why do you diss english with this lame slang?) Taiwanese culture in the least. Taiwan doesn't even enter the picture - unless you are running around with some kind of chip on your shoulder.

Oh and as far as our supporting Taiwan - I personally took part in operations like this that have been a part of Taiwan remaining free from Chinese control. But I'm wandering now - the issue is your inability to get a joke. Pointing fingers at Christians and laughing at Allah could be funny too in the right context.

    Smart Girls Playhouse

I know my 4 year old son loves Mario Kart. Lego Star Wars is his other favorite. That has a lot to do with how much he likes the films also. So if your child isn't familiar with the movies, or doesn't care for them, it would make a big difference of course.

Based on my own daughters - I would also recommend Animal Crossing. Now this involves reading, but that's not bad. It's really going to encourage and motivate her so that she can play. The ideas are pretty much what you get with the whole webkinz rage - and I know my 6 year old and 7 year old girls are totally into that. There so many more ds titles she would probably really enjoy it isn't even funny. Barbie stuff, Disney Princess stuff, etc.
