..does every scifi channel discussion bring out the 'scifi sucks cuz they cancelled farscape' trolls? get over it. nobody cared about the show and it got canned. same thing happened to the 1st star trek show too ya know.
back on topic...
BG could be interesting... if they don't keep it centric to the cylons _looking_ human. what is humanity? is it a flesh and blood (ie genetics) thing... or more a state of mind? what is a mind? what is a soul?
these are just some of the interesting ways to go with the plot and general story arcs.
i was talking in generalities, not specific to this particular event. i am not a coder... so i have a hard time recognizing good or bad code. i just know that it is code.;)
And if people were not writing the viruses for various computer and related platforms, I think the evolution of these platforms would be at a slower pace. It is of no suprise to most people that there are other people out there wanting to test the limits of what can be done.
designed to remove the advantage to be gained from memorising scores and scores of standard openings and to encourage play based on talent rather than preparation
That is a nice way to say 'cheats' if you ask me. It's like a trained dog, it knows how to do it, but it does not understand why it is doing other than to make that tall biped happy so it can get a treat.
mac user crap about "intuitive" interface and whatnot. nothing about a computer is intuitive. give one to someone that has never seen one before and it will never do anything. also, htf is something "too intuitive?" seems to prove my earlier point...
Flip side of that coin is how long do you have to wait before you can properly vet an update to make sure it works 100% for all hardware and software variants? How far behind do you fall? How insecure do you become? This is of course assuming your client machines are full fledged desktops running the OS of choice - Windows XP.
For general software updates I tend to agree with you. If it ain't broke...
"The new FCC regulations represent an unacceptable assault on our First Amendment rights, on everyone's First Amendment rights, an act unworthy of a free country, an act of censorship," Black told the critics. To underscore the irony of the required bleeping, Black added: "As for the word 'f---,' I stand with Vice President (Dick) Cheney, who recently used the word on the Senate floor and who said sometimes you have to use it unapologetically because it makes you feel better afterwards."
very easy to pirate the cd's... only 1 file has to be changed.
i agree on the disc clutter though. 4 dics is annoying.
i have an ibook... so my comment regarding dvd burners may be slightly off target. but i would bet 90% of computers sold today don't have dvd burners in them.
Only DVD is to cut down on the amount of pirated copies in the wild. Almost everyone has a cd burner now, but dvd burners are still somewhat scarce (for the average user).

regarding selling all the seats:
denver broncos - 274 straight home games (35 seasons)
number of championships in that time - 2
they are currently behind the washington redskins in the home game sellout streak...
the nfl tv contract is worth $18billion. that's it. not very big in the world of money...
the #2 reason to buy a wireless base station!

the remote just adds to the cluttered cable mess that i really don't need. granted most of the time i am using the ipod while riding my motorcycle...
bluetooth headphones small enough to fit inside of my helmet would rule.
hrm... time to go make my millions.

we just need parents. this raising a child by a village shit obviously doesn't work.
I guess the BSOD doesn't match Ferrari red?
That and an illegal passport.
It is sad to see his 'fall from grace' as it were.

The real qustion is why is that box marked off by default?
That must explain why it took 2 hours for the guy (not my reference) to find it?
*sigh*
A small nearly out of the way check box that takes 2 hours to find is not intuitive.
In other words, OS X was too intuitive for them.
Replace intuitive with something like, simple, basic, un-involved, etc.
I am not trying to be a grammar nazi, but Jesus this is an easy one. Where did you people go to school?

He (Gates) probably looked at the timeline of the popular usage of VCR tapes, figured out how long DVD's have been around and poof!

Found here.
no it wasn't.
private sector floating the cost versus the us gov't paying to re-do all the highway signs and whatnot.
If I was an Intel stockholder and knew that Intel wasn't doing this I would be upset. When will /. editors understand the idea of good business?
