If we really want to get newbies interested in Linux, we need more video tutorial. A picture might be a thousand words, but a video gives a lot more confidence to people who wants try new things.
I really like the new ASP.Net HOWTO video series. I found it to be very effective to give new web developers head start with the IDE.
Why is this funny? I, like many others, have downloaded src of small utils or patches from websites and did the exact same thing. I rarely go through source codes, may be just take a look what is going to be installed/overwritten in bin dirs.
Why do they always have to go with `simple' example?? Why not go into some depth and show a moderately big project with some complex feature implementation?
Had some really bad experience recently with OOo2 when I was writing a term paper which includes a lot of math equations and crossreferences, and OOo crashed quite a few times. I guess I have to take the plunge with LaTeX next time.
Stop whining. This is a problem with very few websites (e.g sf.net patch list). Just install MiddleMan (http://middle-man.sourceforge.net/) or Proxomitron (http://proxomitron.info/files/index.html) to modify the culprit headers on the fly (I am sure you have a clue what to modify from the replies). Firefox does exactly what a standard compliant browser should do, don't complain about standards.
Sorry, your effort was commendable, however the movie wasn't that funny.

Been there. Done that. I now have constipation and constantly threatening my co-workers about dire consequences from not obeying my wishes.
When you have such liberal licensing terms, don't bitch about people not giving back.
If only some of these people would help out Gnome to make a decent USABLE file chooser.
.. if only Gillette would understand the same philosophy.
But where are the IDE's/GUI builders for XUL? Those `tutorials' sure don't help newbies.
I guess when I say `Yeah, right!' sarcastically, it is on behalf of firefox users with bullshit detectors turned on.
... will it clean my bathroom?
Yeah right .... once you get to connect.
Speculation is not news.
.. the only one, who doesn't find Penny Arcade funny?

.. does Azureus get 4.5?! It is a freaking resource hog. I have 384MB ram and it makes the machine unresponsive after a couple of days of execution.
... Conan O'brien would say, "This will bring NBC out of the tiolet".
DUGG!! eh.. wrong website again :P

AJAX won't bring good keyboard accessible application, although that is mostly due to browsers limitations.
Try middleman: http://middle-man.sourceforge.net/
