    Answer:- YES, But PC's are getting faster and faster, and if you are not upgrading/replacing your PC on a weekly basis you are not a true GEEK.

    What we really need are graphics cards optimised for the 2D environment in general and specific OS's in particular.

    There is lots of 3D dev's going on - perhaps the graphis people are letting us down.

    The alternative of course is to revert back to that good old command line. At least then you had to think about what you were doing?

    It's interesting to note that these security hacks and loop holes are not just restricted to "windows".

    As other OS's and app's become more popular we will see a rise in breaches and attempted breaches of these systems.

    No matter if your an Admin of a "microsoft", "Sun", "Linux" system. Security should still be on your agenda regardless of system.

    What would be really nice to see would be games that use a combination of a board game and a pc/pda/handheld etc.

    Its not a new idea either. I have still got some old stuff that runs on a PET (Dneiper River Line - I think they called it)

    They are all wrong...
    It's a little guy in the computer with chalk, drawing the pictures on the screen. Sometimes when the screen "freezes" - it's him taking a break.

    After a long spell at the coomputer you can usually hear him gasping for breath.

    When he has run out of colours and he only has blue left - that when you get the BSOD.

    For Microsoft, Linux is a disruptive technology - and its coming up fast.

    How are they to deal with this?

    1. Embrace it (read buy it, own it, pretend they invented it) or,

    2. Disrupt it before it gets any further (how:- develop a windows emulator for it - see replies below)

    Whatever , Microsoft are not daft.
