That's why Fox could run for a loss for ten years and pay to be played to build a market. And Wapo runs at a mega million loss each year. We have to wonder what's in it for the charitable backers to throw money at news. And how much does it cost to keep my misdeeds out of the news?

I'm not an expert, but I do believe that MOST of the products of oil are put to use right now except for Benzene, which we have too much of but is put in gas as a good way to get rid of it (and we tolerate this, apparently). I don't think those plastics, or fertilizers are going to need the gasoline products -- so, those by-products are just going to get more expensive as the use for the gasoline fuel goes down (and, not an expert, but that's probably the most expensive and profit-making part). Thus, I'm betting gasoline will get cheaper as electric cars get more numerous, and Jet Fuel (kerosene) will get cheaper but plastics and such more expensive as now they are the principle profit source.

Anyway, solar and wind are just going to become more and more economical and we will probably solve the storage issue. Right now there's a solar panel that produces hydrogen -- you could have both on a rooftop and the hydrogen is used as a way to store energy when the wind and sun aren't producing any.

If we acted like our lives depended on it - we could really get carbon neutral in 20 years -- if we had the can-do attitude that took us to the moon or the Manhattan project that is.

  4. How do you know she was talking about you?

In fact, Hillary talked more about retraining and finding people jobs than Trump did. But people don't know that because the number 1 media outlet is Fox News and Sinclair and CNN only sounds liberal on social issues -- not on economics so they weren't bending over to add any factual value and just covered the horse race.

So, it isn't the Dems NOT understanding and addressing the "flyover" states -- it's that nobody has their ear but the Oligarchy. Not saying that Hillary isn't also a spokeman for the lobbyists -- she just isn't as corrupt as Trump. But again, that probably sounds ridiculous to anyone watching Fox News.

The problem is propaganda is real, and it really works. Vote for a progressive -- they are all on this issue.

  5. Let's stop calling it a "plea bargain". That's a misleading euphemism. Let's call it what it really is: coerced false confession.

We eventually learned about economics from some of the same wall street folks who were selling us out stocks and bonds. So nice of them to take time out of their busy schedule to get free advertising. And now NPR has supporters and the biggest ones are all the companies they USED TO blow the whistle on. -- just like with the news services who somehow treat all the companies with commercials better. Why do major corporations that don't sell to the public advertise on CNN and the like? So you don't hear about them.

Snopes would just get attacked as another "wasteful government program." A left-leaning one. Because it's not wasteful to be lied into a war, or have legislation that allows banks to speculate and become trillions of dollars over leveraged.

This is the WORST way to raise money. The problem is it is a self-reinforcing feedback loop. The taxes usually fall on the people least able to pay the fines -- or to protest them. The average citizen is happy because their taxes go down. The law enforcement group finds that it is harder to get tax money and easier to raise fines -- so they raise fines and eventually, more laws are enforced more tightly. So maybe someone is 2 miles over the posted speed limit. It becomes a revenue generating system rather than something that society needs to enforce to be happy and prosperous. Enforcement becomes just a revenue collection scheme so there can be police so they can enforce so they can collect revenue so pay for police and gadgets so they can enforce and fine.

Pretty soon you live in a neighborhood that has some shuttered doors because someone couldn't pay their fines. And nobody calls the cops when someone gets shot and nobody is a witness because they are alienated from a system they don't trust. Things break down but selective enforcement will mean that they are going after the crimes that bring in easy revenue. They don't actually want crime to go down -- just more opportunity for enforcement. Easier to lie on the stats.

You will learn that the system is working. Families and neighborhoods will be destroyed. Taxes will be low.

Whereas I remember a few years ago that in France, they actually kidnapped a CEO of a company and protested for higher wages. No charges were filed. I think that is fucking enlightened if you ask me.

So if you have earlier detection -- you have a longer survival rate. The REAL stat we need is; at what age do people die, on average, from Cancer? If the rich and poor die on average about the same age that they always have, that tells you that we've progressed on early detection, and have done bupkiss for Cancer. Having less access to get a diagnosis and an expensive placebo might be OK. But the opposite may be true and we would see wealthy people surviving because they got early treatment -- their life expectancy would be much higher.
