    This is what I thought. People kept saying that the Athlon couldn't do MP. I thought it was just motherboard problems...

    Question. Why couldn't someone take a MP Alpha motherboard and plug a bunch of Athlons into it?

    I don't understand why the CPU is the problem with SMP. I understand that it took a while for Athlon MP chipsets to come out, but the Athlon uses the Alpha EV6 bus, and Alphas have been SMPing for years!

    Can someone explain to me (I guess in words of one syllable :P) why the stock Athlon CPU doesn't support SMP?

    Nah. MS said that if they (Corporate America) didn't support MS, they'd have their licenses audited!

    Oh, and back on topic... The whole licensing thing is an example of how MS being a monopoly is hurting consumers, not just competitors.

    I've spent months trying to figure out how to turn of auto-indenting in numbered lists within Word 2000 with no success.

    Yeah, and try using styles for nested numbered lists. They don't restart properly!

    That's a pretty cynical view. It's not as simple as all that. Those are extreme laws to have passed and simply "buying" them isn't necessarily going to work.

    I don't know about that. Can you say "SSSCA"? I guess that Hollings' price is just a lot lower than the other CongressCritters.

    The company I work for at the moment is going through chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, before I started they had a history of missing paychecks which many feel will never be payed.

    I remember back in 1981, at Washington University, the anti-nuke groups were protesting that "any amount of radiation is dangerous".
