Intel's decision to name their 586 processors Pentium was the first eye-rolling arrogent marketing ploy of this nature to truly become mainstream...
They did it because you can't copyright a number. so when the 80586 was due out, to keep other companies (Read: AMD, Cyrix) from using the same name, and potentially confusing the customer.
Call it eye-rolling arrogant, if you will, but it seems to make good business sense to me.
Last year? I've serviced three broken western digitals in the last MONTH!
The sad part is, I still like the drives (I run 4 different ones between work and home) but I think I'll have to go back to Seagate, or maybe turn over to Maxtor, (just not IBM!) for new installs.
Strange.. I can only remember leaving late from PHL once... and that was due to congestion on the tarmac... I was 45 minutes late getting to Kansas City.
I don't think you can really blame any airline for leaving late. It probably has more to do with flight volume at a given time, and imperfect traffic control. Just MHO, though.
Yeah, but surely some type of broadband is available to you. I live in Browns Mills, approx. 15 miles southeast of you, and I have cable internet access through Comcast (yes, I know, not the best solution.) If they have it out in the sticks, they HAVE to have it out there in the middle of civilization.
And by the way, Burlington isn't so much an overgrown town as an overgrown slum.:p
So your solution is to go back to an MFM bus, right? I mean, you can only have one drive on an MFM bus. So the device has the entire bus to itself...:p
Depends on how you look at it. By release date, you're right. Speaking chronologically, on the Star Wars time line, ANH and Jedi are 4th and 6th, but even then that doesn't pan out perfectly, since Empire would then be an odd number, and it was the best of all, IMHO.
Gotta disagree with you on Insurrection though, it sucked ball.
New Jersey only requires that your first in-state license be a photo license. After that, as someone else mentioned, they send you a form in the mail about 2 months before the four year expiration comes up, you mail it back to DMV with a check, and they send you a non-photo license.
And the photos for your first license are instant, not digital, they don't keep a copy in a database.
I live in New Jersey, and although previous administrations (Whitman, DeFrancesco) have given the idea of updating our licenses to something more modern lip service, the current governor (McGreevy) hasn't even mentioned.
Not that the minors around here mind. They *are* very easy to fake. Hell, when your license comes up for renewel when you're 21 (assuming you get it at the minimum age of 17) you don't even have to have a photo on it!
Listen to some Bad Religion. They've been putting out lyrics like that for 20 years over a hard rock/punk beat. And doing a very good job at it.
The funny thing is, if I may go out on a tangent, is that their *worst* albums were on Atlantic Records, while their best albums were on their indie label, Epitaph. Kinda makes you think.
Or my friend John, the Army Ranger, who is now in parts unknown (I fear for him...) and has more anime/hentai (ok, mostly hentai) than I've ever seen in one place before.
Some people have different tastes, anyone who doesn't understand that is as boring as the crap they watch on TV and do in their "real, grown-up" lives. Go back to Darma and Greg and STFU.

PLEASE NO! We saw what happened the last time someone in Hollywood got a bug up his ass to do Heinlein.
I have a GA7VAX Gigabyte with the dual BIOS feature. Sweet stuff. As for a restore factory defaults switch... uhm... haven't seen that one.
Even with the Gig boards, if you flash both BIOSes at the same time, like an idiot, and there's a problem, you're screwed.
Where would the system restore from if both BIOSes (or the one BIOS, in a single BIOS system) was trashed?
flickering in a strong breeze?

Woo hoo! Hooray for Hewlett-Packard-Bell!
... and I never thought I'd see the day I agreed with such a statement.
Hewlett-Packard-Bell-Compaq
You mean the Model A...

Come to South Jersey, the stargazing can be incredible, here.
As is the most famous version of Dracula.
well, your post is a "horrific image" to me, and I certainly didn't go looking for it. :p
(the above is a joke, perhaps a bad one. please moderate accordingly.)

I've had AIM on my Sprint PCS phone for two years...
Simple, right click on the IE icon, and choose Properties. Change the homepage setting from there.
This works in IE 6, I don't know if it's valid for earlier versions.
...Genesis (odd)
I assume you meant Generations. But yeah, the odd and even theory definitely still holds true.

How about HAL drives? :p

Maybe because Star Wars is suffering from the Star Trek movies syndrome? And if that's true, Episode II should kick ass.
For those that don't know, the story is something like all odd numbered ST movies suck, and the even numbered movies are good.
Grokster

Don't forget The Maxx. I used to stay up at night as a teenager solely to see Liquid Television, and (later on) Aeon Flux and The Maxx.
