Not in my jurisdiction. If the car was not driven by the owner, the owner can identify the perpetrator and move the legal liability to the perpetrator. I'll bet it's the same in your jurisdiction -- it was written on the ticket and documentation that I received.
Duggie, Hopefully you are a young person. This {degradation of shame} started and reached artistic levels decades before Trump entered politics. Placing the blame on Trump shows the ignorance of the young and uniformed or the stupidity of the Democratic Party. (And possibly something else that I'm not aware of.) Many Psychologists say that shame is a bad thing. One reason is that it doesn't give some people "space" to change.
Wow! People with time on their hands can conquer just about anything. Kids and Criminals. Maybe these convicts have potential with the DOD. A recent story said that the DOD can't find & hire enough Cyber-Warriors to meet their needs. Right now these convicts are under Government authority and control. I'll bet any of them would jump at the chance to leave prison and work for the USA Federal Government. What a missed opportunity by the DOD. Regrettably, most will return after committing more crimes or run for office and become politicians. It's a real opportunity for the DOD to rehabilitation these convicts and keep them out of our Legislative Houses.
I'm looking for a ~15" laptop. The P51 seems to be a really good laptop comparable with the Apple Mac Pro 15" -- priced with comparable features. The big drawback is that it's a M$ Windows laptop and I don't do M$. Does the P51 do Linux? If not, it's not applicable for me. When I left my previous job 5.5 years ago, I stopped using M$. System76 sells comparable Linux laptops in the same price range. I would probably choose a System76 laptop since they already come with supported versions of Linux. (Does anyone worry about Chinese back doors these days?)
I know it exists. (I've been a Prime "member" for 10 years.) The statement is right there on the page. Easy to see and understand. Easy to deal with in a responsible manner. Amazon also gives the option of slow delivery (which tends to batch items together from my experience) which gives Amazon the option of shipping more economically. They generally give a $1 on electronic goods such as Kindle books, prime movies, etc. for choosing slow shipping. Seems to be a prejudiced story written by someone who hates Amazon. (There's enough to dislike about Amazon without resorting to inaccurate and incorrect arguments.)
I signed on to Sprint for a 20GB Family plan. With a special promotion of an additional 20GB of data. That's 40GB on my plan. We have had up to 5 lines on our plan and never got close to 40GB per month. Sprint kept offering "Unlimited" plans to me at varying prices but I always say, "Thanks, but no". I bypassed the "Unlimited" trap and have a defined 40GB. Sprint works well for me -- more data than Unlimited and at a fixed rate. Hopefully, T-Mobile will make Sprint even better. I initially picked Sprint because they covered areas that I frequent.
Isn't Ridesharing part of the philosophy behind Uber and Lyft? We see the indigenous Ridesharing folks, the Taxi company, fighting Uber and Lyft in the urban areas and Winning! Cities are restricting, taxing, and outlawing Uber and Lyft. Where is your Ridesharing then?
The idea may be good, but since it moves, the Governments will tax it out of existence.
The UK Government tried to prevent anonymous pamphleteers before and during the Colonies in North America revolted under UK rule. This is old news. This is an old, as well as a bad idea. The UK Governments in all its successive iterations will Always want to imprison their own people -- as they tried in the Colonies, Scotland, Northern Ireland, etc.
Alarm feature is very important for me. Being able to set alarms to vibrate only makes my life better.
Receiving phone calls is great.
Receiving texts is also great.
Reminders are easy to use and helpful.
All without my iPhone in my hand or even with me.
Different strokes for different folks. Apple Watch works great for me!
Recently an armed school LEO stopped a killer as the rampage began. The officer was commended for saving lives for quick and accurate action. IIRC, this was at a Texas school. Check it out. It didn't make the headlines, obviously.
The mentally ill are already forbidden to purchase guns -- It's The Law!
The problem stated in the summary is the fact that none of the recent shooters would be on the "Troubled/Unwanted Individuals" list. Why? Because the school administration did not follow their own rules (and, in come cases, the laws) on reporting students as troubled or problem students. The Government School Administrators screwed up royally. Only if the Administrators do their jobs properly would the face recognition system work. This is a knee-jerk reaction to cover up poor school Administrators,
I don't think that is what the post that you are responding to means. I take it to mean that the loss that the Great Barrier Reef is currently experiencing is not as great a threat (at the present moment) as some portray it. In practice terms, there is more time to solve/remediate the problem and to restore the Great Barrier Reef to its modern condition. That is, the best solution can be found and applied instead of a stop-gap or knee-jerk remedy.
The FDA approves 99%? Really? If it does so, it doubles (2x) or triples (3x) the approval period needed to receive approval. Approval delayed is Approval Denied.
Please don't lie with statistics!
What about the time it takes to get a medicine or medical device to market?
The current situation takes years longer than necessary because of All the Federal Government "Red Tape". Drugs and Devices get into the mainstream medical practices because of this Federal paper chase.
I have a Cochlear implant. It is powered by air zinc batteries and rechargeable batteries (as was the previous generation). It took 6 months longer for the Feds to approve the rechargeable batteries than the actual hearing processor. What a Crock!
The Federal Government is screwing the American population with their ever-increasing bureaucracy and it increasing demand for paperwork.
Shades of M$
The issue is that this is not in Amazon's sales literature OR the literature that came in my 2 Echos.
I am happy with my Echos. I use one for an alarm. I am deaf and will wake up when the light turns on at the set time. There are other ways to do this but I am pleased with the interaction of the Echo with the Kasa device and app to accomplish this task. It would be nice if there were greater options for the "Wake Name" but even "computer" is probably better than "Alexa" for eliminating these type of mis-hearings by the Echo.
Local Governments, State Governments, Federal Governments all gather information in the USA. These Governments ALL Sell this information to Business. Will this Bill stop the Governments from sharing PII and HIPPA information without an Opt-In decision from the persons/citizens? If not, this Bill is a publicity stunt!
"If Man caused the extinction" thinking is pure bullshit.
Extinction is Evolution's way of saying, "Times Up!"
If you believed in Evolution, you would realize that bad actions (of the parts of any individual creature or group of creatures) are moving Evolution along.
Wake UP and take the bad with the good.
You neither know nor have read ANYTHING about the NRA if you truly believe "they actively oppose ANY EFFORT TO FIX THE PROBLEM".
The NRA supports denial or restriction of gun ownership to specific classes of people -- convicted felons, mentally ill, etc. Just go an look. I dare You!
The NRA supports educational pursuits with children, adolescents, and adults with courses that deal with gun awareness, safety, safety use and proficient use. The NRA is a gigantic educational and training entity that provides training for potential soldiers and LEOs, training for current soldiers and LEOs, training for instructors, range officers, etc. for shooting ranges, etc.
If someone knows what a gun can do, how to respect (use and handle) a gun, and how to avoid situations where improper gun use can take place, that someone has the NRA to thank. The NRA teaches this now. The NRA has taught this since its inceptions. The NRA will continue to teach this.
If someone knows the above, that someone knows when to leave many potential dangerous situations before a prep starts shooting. Wouldn't it better for someone to know all the above so that they could avoid a dangerous situation?
BINGO, you're in sympathy with the NRA!
AirBnB represents people Homeowner GONE WILD!
Leftists and Politicians just don't think it safe for any person to act without their approval OR have Untaxed Mondey. Simple, isn't it.
DuckDuckGo, at one time, sat on top of Google/the Google search engine. I haven't heard that they use Bing/M$ but I haven't checked since I switched to DuckDuckGo well over a year ago. Not only does DuckDuckGo not track but it also uses a cooler duck for its logo.
Regrettably the activity, that you have mentioned, has become the standard in the USA. It is illegal in the states that I have been in. Accidents are to be report to the LEOs, to the owner, and to insurance people. But many people just leave a note and drive away. This common and Rude practice has cost a lot of money for the innocent victim of this type of illegal vandalism/destruction of private property.
Not in my jurisdiction. If the car was not driven by the owner, the owner can identify the perpetrator and move the legal liability to the perpetrator. I'll bet it's the same in your jurisdiction -- it was written on the ticket and documentation that I received.

Yes, they would. Seniors buy a LOT of Fords.
