  1. US is the biggest Terrorist State on Globalization · · Score: 1

Chomsky spoke at MIT about The War on Terror. He points out that the USA is the biggest terrorist state, and has been for years. This is very clear to those living outside the US of A. (like me)
The US is the rogue state. Millions of Afgani's are about to starve and freeze to death, because the US wants to prove its "Credibility" and seize control of Central Asian oil.
Most likely India and Pakistan will be exchanging some mushroom clouds pretty soon. And USA boys will be bogged down for a decade with their high tech toys. Did ya hear Lockheed won the billions to make more death machines... can anyone say "Military-Industrial Complex"

    Come you masters of war
You that build all the guns
You that build the death planes
You that build the big bombs
    You that hide behind walls
    You that hide behind desks
I just want you to know
I can see through your masks

    You that never done nothin'
    But build to destroy
    You play with my world
    Like it's your little toy
You put a gun in my hand
And you hide from my eyes
And you turn and run farther
    When the fast bullets fly

    Like Judas of old
    You lie and deceive
A world war can be won
    You want me to believe
But I see through your eyes
And I see through your brain
Like I see through the water
    That runs down my drain

    You fasten the triggers
    For the others to fire
Then you set back and watch
When the death count gets higher
    You hide in your mansion
    As young people's blood
    Flows out of their bodies
And is buried in the mud

    You've thrown the worst fear
    That can ever be hurled
    Fear to bring children
    Into the world
    For threatening my baby
    Unborn and unnamed
    You ain't worth the blood
    That runs in your veins

    How much do I know
    To talk out of turn
You might say that I'm young
    You might say I'm unlearned
But there's one thing I know
    Though I'm younger than you
    Even Jesus would never
    Forgive what you do

Let me ask you one question
    Is your money that good
    Will it buy you forgiveness
Do you think that it could
    I think you will find
When your death takes its toll
    All the money you made
Will never buy back your soul

And I hope that you die
    And your death'll come soon
    I will follow your casket
    In the pale afternoon
And I'll watch while you're lowered
    Down to your deathbed
And I'll stand o'er your grave
'Til I'm sure that you're dead

  7. USA IS the Evil Empire on US Starts Attacking Afghanistan · · Score: 1, Insightful

I don't know if this guy's facts & figures are all correct, but the gist of his argument is true. The USA is the Evil Empire. While it is those in power (political/economic/religious) that direct the evil, most citizens seem guilty of ignorance. Whether the numbers killed by the USA are 3 million, or 300 (5,000 more Iraqi children die every month now as did before sanctions), it really doesn't matter. What matters is that the USA puts economic and power greed ahead of principles of humanity, just as Bin Laden puts religious delusions ahead of principles of humanity. Both a insideously evil.
George Bush is spinning bullshit about "freedom", but then has polcies which only serve the rich and powerful. I mean the guy is willing to poison the world if it will make money for his elite mates. Compare the WTC attacks with allowing an entire planet to be poisoned when you can actually try to do something about it -(Kyoto)Sure it isn't as immediate, and doesn't make good TV, but 'Planeticide' is pretty darn evil in my book.

Stop loving the USA and waving you dumb flag and start loving humanity (no matter what colour or geographical location).

What annoys me more than the popups and diversions, is that these ads prey on stupid people's gullibility! "You have won! Click here to collect your Prize", "You have been overcharged, click to gain refund" etc etc... I mean we're not all dumbass AOL users.

Stupid people should be banned from using the Net. The same kind of person opens unexpected .vbs attachments with stupid names. There should be a test like a driving test for Net use.

  9. Britain did this too. on Hackers: Uncle Sam Wants You! · · Score: 1

This problem is not specific to the United States. When Britian was the most powerful and advanced nation in the world it did exactly the same. Many of the problems in the Middle East can be traced back to British (and French) semi-colonial rule. I'd say in a parrallel universe where Afganistan is the Super Power, they would behave the same way too.

The incredible hypocracy, foolish, myopic, greedy policies of the USA is perhaps a level of intensity above Britain - but perhaps this is only because technology has intensified and hastened most things.

It is the problem of Empires. It is the problem of our increasingly centralised 'States' system.

We need to hand power back to the people. I'm not talking about lowering taxes or other BS, I'm talking about industrial democracy, community rule etc. As the people of NYC showed, most common folk are decent and willing to help others. It is States and Corporations which allow indecent folk to exploit and kill others for their own greed and ambitions (Bush, Blair and Bin Laden are all in the same camp here)

Also, what if I want to download other file types while I am downloading MP3s? Won't be using Napster.

I've flown lots of MS flight sim. If you lock on to a VOR, the equipment would lock right on and fly you driectly over it. If you had planned this you would know the heading and distance from the VOR beacon. Make the turn (or program the autopilot to do it for you). After that it is simply a matter of adjusting for wind (not much that day) and keeping the right altitude, which may well be the hardest part. I believe that big jets are much more stable than small ones which get buffeted around a lot.

I heard another jet had to dodge one of the planes, which indicates they were in a lane heading for a VOR.

Does anyone know what rate of knots they were doing - looked pretty damn fast! It would be hard to fly that fast and low as speed tends to give you lift.
