    There is no reason for someone dialling YOU to be anonymous to your telcom provider. And no, there is no reason to make exceptions for any category of calls, be it political or non-profit.

    The Founders of the US would today use anonymous robocalls to disseminate their political ideas to the masses.

    The notion that it could be some sort of plesiosaur is just absurd because there would have to be a population of them and that would be impossible to hide even in an ocean much less 7.5 km^3 of water.

    In real units, that's three million Olympic swimming pools, one of which contains a plesiosaur.

    Saw this in SL,UT: posters posted on every pole explaining it.

    At what point do we say: hey that's higher-quality crap than they'd be able to produce on their own and still just about no one watches it...maybe we should stop wasting money?

    Discovery and History channels are continuing education for adults. Rather than taxing the nation to pay for it, we simplify by bundling it with other channels and charging subscribers more. Since cutting the cord, those two are the only channels I miss.

    General Flynn was an honorable man. I don't know what he did to make the dark state so angry - but clearly he did *something* to precipitate his purge. I believe he was trying to protect the Republic from its many enemies within.

    General Flynn pleaded guilty to lying to the FBI regarding his Russian contacts. Drop the conspiracy theories already.

    I expect that cultured meat has the same potential to bring down the cost of meat. However, while I can't recall what it's called right now, there is an effect known in economics that making a product more efficient actually ends up using even more energy because more efficiency means cheaper cost to the consumer and that in turn drives more consumer use.

    Jevon's paradox is what you're after: utilizing a resource more efficiently can lead to higher demand of that resource. Of course, a person can only eat so much.

    The British did this experiment where they just seeded an isolated colony with random criminals. Turned out OK.
