    While true, they have evolved greatly in that timeframe, so I don't believe the results would accurately reflect the effects of use now. The nature of and amount of radiation emitted has to be quite different between the razor thin flip phones of today versus the shoebox-sized (ok, I'm exaggerating) phones of a decade (or two) ago.

    exaggerating? I recall my first nokia had a handset like a normal phone which plugged into the shoebox sized (no joke) battery and hardware of the phone..

    I don't know much about this type of caper, but would it be possible to poison the ARP cache on a LAN (not over the internet), so that you can retrieve the packets intended for the spoofed host?

    the settings for one DVD take up half a meg.
    2 meg if to make it RAID-5, you'll need at least one extra DVD player if you want to enable MSCS, and at that stage you really should consider a SAN to store the DVD Informational Standard Settings!

    I wondered this the other day when I caught a flight with my new Nokia 9500. It has built in WLAN and Bluetooth.

    Turning off the phone leaves the SymbianOS running inside the phone, and it can be used like a PDA. If you have WLAN or Bluetooth on, even though you have the phone part turned off, it continually scans.

    I turned them both off, because I thought of it. Though I bet it does very little on a large commercial aircraft, otherwise they would have problems with people NOT turning off the WiFi on their phones.

    On the subject of burning damaged CD's. I once had a Strokes CD (Is this it?) which had the backing literally PEELED off over the data track in a hole about 1/3inch. You could look through the disk. I never tried copying the disk, but ripping it with EAC on the error correction settings took all night, but I can listen to that CD from start to finish no jumps skips etc..
