    Guys check the 9/15 th post

    Not only does the author disspove his own conclusion..in fact switching to java does accidently make a program more secure ..why do you think MS switched to state machienes in MS .NET..its ecure, duh!

    But other wrong assumptions abound..

    Be very carefull of reading the book the author has written if its ful of the same assumptions..you might get burned..

    Remember folks this is the saem CEo who had a had in splitting and fragmenting Unix to give Solaris OS its push in the market place..don't be fooled

    why not have the filter do a whois on the ip of sender and send the warning to the admin of that net block?

    seems like abetter solution as it gets the virus warning in hands of the person that can do soemthing about it rather than sent to people who have no virus on their systems..

    comeon how hard is it to parse the record gotten back from a whois query?

    MIDP1.0 will last about Ten years..its currently on 7 years

    MIPD2.0 will last aboput 15 years its currently on about 3..

    Sun WTKs if you have 1.4jdk you should use wtk2.0 for mIDP1.0 unless you want to mess aroudn setting compiler flags for 1.3 jdk binary compaitibilty..

    As the handsets using MIDP2.0 are not offically out in high numbers and since the spec is what actually the vendors implement..this book is more for maybe hardware implementors rather than appplications developers..

    just your humble J2ME developer blogging about it in my weblog..
