People who voted for Trump are either 100% behind his bigotry, or they are 100% okay with it; there is no effective difference between the two. Apathy is just as dangerous as active hatred.

Yes, actually, if Hillary had said something so blatantly abusive, had run on a platform of racism, sexism, Islamaphobia, classism, ableism, and basically further disenfranchisement for anyone who isn't a white Christian straight cisgender male - yes, I'd feel exactly the same way about her and anyone who voted for her (and probably be looking for a bridge to jump off, if both of our candidates were so uniformly awful). Because it doesn't matter who does it, it's equally as crappy. It's not about championing a particular issue, it's about not championing the administration who literally wants to institute policies that will kill people.

It hit me so hard because no matter how much I gave dire warnings to the people who handwaved Trump's chances away, I never truly expected him to win. I never, ever, in my heart of hearts, believed that so many people in my country believed in his racist, sexist, ableist, vile rhetoric.

The US is much more racist and backward than we ever thought.

They base morality as adherence to the ideology and thus see all who disagree as evil/stupid and look down on those beneath them as at best unenlightened/uneducated and at worst people the world is better off without.

The EU also has massive, massive problems, unelected, unresponsive bureaucrats who view their jobs as an all expense paid vacation, flooding the continent with third world migrants, etc.

Then they suborned the DNC to steal the nomination from Sanders and give it to Clinton, to give Trump an easier opponent. Next they induced a DNC staffer named Seth Rich to steal the compromising emails and give them to Wikileaks, which dutifully publishes them, showing the DNC to be corrupt and Hillary to be venal. Then they managed to get Rich to set himself up for a mugging in which he is shot twice in the head but nothing is stolen. Then they manipulated the Director of the FBI to announce just before the election that many, many thousands of emails potentially involving Hillary have been found and need to be examined. And finally, they finessed the US intelligence community into believing he hacked those DNC computers to influence the election, thereby concealing - and taking off the discussion table - any examination of the DNC's & Hillary's wrongdoing.

I heard that they found the cell-phone-smashing sledge hammer in Putin's basement!

Yaknow, maybe you haven't fully assimilated into our culture and that's why you feel this way. It has long been a historic wrong for white countries to steal away the best talent from the brown and black countries. This way, the brown and black people never prosper, because the people who should be entrepreneurs and educated people are missing.

This creates a situation ripe for exploitation, and American banks and corporations immediately begin tearing their countries apart. Who's going to lead the anti-pollution protest when all the people who even know what cadmium is have been stolen away by a distant foreign culture? And not just any, the one recognized in survey after survey by all other countries in the world as the greatest threat. The one that has been engaged in bombing brown countries for the past eight years solid. How do you get more evil than that?

And the worst part is that it's solely due to that wicked imperialist nation's ability to pay. That's right, it comes down to dirty money. If you're supporting this kind of thing, then maybe you need a civics course or something because it's clearly wrong. No real American would be in favor of this kind of imperialist exploitation, a sort of colonization-in-reverse.
