    No, no, NO! "Poor" people from developing countries DO NOT WANT your garbage! A P-350 is junk, no matter what country you're in. In addition, older computers don't have modern power-saving options, and consume too much electricity. If you want to help the developing world, pay to have your old garbage recycled IN YOUR OWN COUNTRY.

    Leaving the root password in plain text is NOT a "tiny" mistake. It's a huge mistake. Someone who makes an idiot mistake like that - who knows what other screwups they're responsible for, that nobody has discovered yet? I believe that this is known as "gross misconduct" and is a firing offense in just about every company with a policy.

    The 51% majority thing is actually good. It enables the party in power to actually do something, instead of be paralyzed by extremist parties who wield their 5% of the vote like a club. Anyone remember Le Pen, or Haider? Insane lunatics like them could never come to power in America.

    Yeah - it really stinks that humans have started using animals for war purposes.

    I heard about this new innovation that the Pentagon is trying. The "armed man on a horse" concept is expected to give greater speed to U.S. troops, while greatly extending the range of patrols. Army spokesmen are salivating at the concept.

    Ever see "The Matrix"? It's just like the action scenes in that movie. Are you sure it's not intentional? Or if it wasn't intentional, it could likely be written off by a quality tester as an "additional feature" to help the player navigate through hectic gameplay.

    Aw, come on - you know as well as I do that "anyone good at rhetoric" loves nothing more than to hear himself talk. And the more obscure words he can throw into a paragraph, the better. Why does he do this? To show how he's better. I used to do this sort of thing all the time, before I got a freaking brain.

    Problem solving? Zelda isn't problem solving, it's more "find this object in the dungeon and return it to me." Problem solving is receiving defective samples from the factory, yelling at them to get it right, and running to the airport to pay a passenger $300 to take your samples to the U.S., since overnight mail won't be fast enough. Video games are just a diversion.

    Yeah - and watch a video-game playing young adult try to get a mortgage on a house, or do anything more complicated than save up for a new Athlon.

    It's actually quite sad that video games are so hellishly complicated. I'm no slouch, and I need an hour or two to competently play a new game. Games even have 'training mode' where you can hone your skills. Gimme a break. These aren't 'mental skills' - they're learned behaviors. What happened to people who just like to play video games? Why does there have to be a divide between 'gamers' and everyone else?

    Funny, I always considered Diablo a ripoff of Nethack. But the more I think about it, Diablo had more of the mindless charging ahead of Angband (which is a ripoff of Moria, which I played a lot of in the 80s). It's much more of the "slot machine" feel of work/reward than Nethack's more refined, thoughtful gameplay.

    Being from a cold climate, you're going to have stupid ideas about how people should act in winter. It makes sense, because in places that are not your home country, winter lasts a mere 2-3 months, instead of the majority of the year. Heat isn't really that important.

    Get over yourself. I come from a warm climate, and I got used to the fact that not everybody thinks the same as I do. Air conditioning is a luxury, not a necessity. I took off my blinders. Evidently, Europeans are excused from this, due to their superior culture. It's not like they're destroying the planet with SUV emissions.
