Wear glasses, much better then contacts... and make sure the glasses have a anti-reflective coating on them. It gives your lenses a slight green tint. This works great for me. I spend about 40-80 hours a week in front of my laptop screen.
I bought a roomba scheduler about 2 weeks ago, and I have to fully agree with your assessment. Yet, after "baby proofing" my house the roomba works great. In addition, a baby proof house usually means your house is just cleaner. My house is not sloppy any more. No chords hanging out, no clothing on the floor etc.
I have stairs throughout the house and mine has not flipped over there stairs yet, it works perfectly.
It cleans my entire 1200 sq ft first floor (high traffic area) just about every day. It goes for about 2 hours, then returns to its charging dock most of the time. Sometimes it cant find the charging dock soon enough if it is cleaning another room. Yet, this isnt a big deal, I pick it up and put it on its dock. It is a great machine to keep your house very clean between regular vaccuming, yet it certainly doesnt replace the vacuum as of yet.
Its not perfect yet, by I'm glad to be a user, and plan to buy every significant upgrade.
I have many progammer friends that have this same flawed logic. The problem is that progammers are a dime a dozen for the grunt work, which sounds what this startup is looking for. The people that always make the most money are always the "idea" people. (usually the founders of the startup) This startup has already developed the idea and is just looking for a programming team to write the grunt code. It is very easy to find trustworthy programmers on scriptlance, elance, rentacoder. If grunt programmers are a dime a dozen and cheap, then there is no reason to give them any bigger a slice of the pie.
They split the advertising revenue generated by the searches through the Google toolbar. This is how firefox pays their employees too. Google pay per click advertising is BIG money. It's a win win for both Google and firefox/opera. Both sides earn more revenue, and Google also takes market share from Microsoft.
They are making money from google searches through the google search bar. They were not making any money charging for the software, and were probably starting to receive substantial income from their Google ad agreement. Therefore they decided to give it away for free in hopes to increase their user base and google commissions...
I hope it works for them.. I really like their browser.
Wow this is very smart. My guess is that you have some marketing background. I had not thought of this potential free press for Apple. I hope your right. This would be a great opportunity for Apple to ride Microsofts wave of marketing dollars.
I too own a small web hosting company. I just send my users to http://www.myemail.com/ They provide a gmail/yahoo interface that allows users to not only check their pop3/imap accounts, but also store 1GB of emails for free. They have google advertisements within their interface, but very minimal advertising. The interface is extremely light yet very functional with address book, etc.
Installing software is horrible. Windows and FreeBSD has linux beat hands down. Every time I go to install something I run into dependency crap. Why doesnt the linux community come up with one freakin standard and setup a ports system similar to FreeBSD. Then all the distributions and share and contribute to this collection. Installing software on FreeBSD is about as easy as it gets.
The Panama Canal door guy is going to be pissed because of less $10 cover charges coming in. Better close it down for 2 months and open it up under a new name.
I've been married now for 3 years, and spent $6k on my wifes ring. I felt like I was getting ripped off, and had no choice. Knowing what I know now, I will NEVER buy diamonds again. These guys make a material called moissanite that will fool most jewelers even under a 10x microscope. They sell a special test kit to jewelers so they can verify a moissanite rock. Yet, the big news is that these rocks sell for 1/10 or less then the price of diamonds.
There web site has info: moissanite.com
I have not bought of these rocks yet, but from everything I read, no one can tell them from real diamonds. This isn't cubic zirconia crap.
Tivo puts up with the hacks, because the hacks have not yet effected their money bags. If a hack comes out where users do not have to pay the monthly fee, they will too be pissed like the MPAA, RIAA, etc... Yet, as long as this is not done, Tivo can look good by embracing the hacking community.

My guess is that he just wanted to prove to himself it was actually possible to color a bubble, toxic or not.
