    What do you guys mean? In 2.1 at least you can create local contacts that aren't synced to a Google account.

    I think T-Mobile is ahead of Sprint with their non-contract phone plans and free tethering.

    The built in browser has an option called "Enable plug-ins". Now I'm not positive, but I'm guessing that Flash can be disabled by unchecking that.

    Which part of that page you linked to says we would be sent back to the stone age? It seems to be describing a collision which would obviously devastate the area around the crater but with very minor global impact.

    I'm pretty sure by traditional they don't mean Windows, they mean an OS installed an a hard disk with a normal boot procedure which you can install and run your own software on. This system comes with a instant-on, read-only OS with a limited set of apps that can't be changed by the user.

    Yes, if a computer came with an instant-on and read-only version of Windows I would consider that non-traditional.

    Hi, you must be new. Welcome to the interweb! When you see underlined text on a "web site" you can "click" on the words to get more information. In this case if you clicked on "comes without a traditional operating system" you would have learned that "Asus ships the Eee PC 1201T with only its ExpressGate instant-on OS". Isn't that neat?     It seems kind of naive to assume that what works with your homes plumbing would be a useful solution to this problem. First of all, when you're doing work on your plumbing you turn off the water main so you can work without pressurized water squirting everywhere. That's not exactly an option in this case, is it?

    If it was just a cell phone you'd be right, but smart phones are pocket sized mobile computers. Lots of people think they are worth $500. If you don't then no one is forcing you to get one, the bending over is all in your head.

    Sure, it's a good possibility that a super-strong magnetic field would be associated with a singularity, but would it be super-strong in proportion to its super-mass? And we are not even considering the massive velocity that a singularity from space would hit the earth with. To travel all this way into the earth's magnetic field, rapidly decelerating, and then to come to a stop right at ground level? Would be remarkable to say the least! And then its magnetic field would also have to be oriented exactly right to be repelled instead of attracted or deflected...

    Oh well, lots of questions still. I guess that is why they call it a mystery...

    That would need to be a hell of a magnetic field, especially since it is pushing against the earths rather weak field.

    It is a curious story though. I tried looking for more information or pictures of the site but couldn't find anything on the web.
