Ok, in next weeks computer science class you'll learn signed and unsigned numbers. Any binary combination represents that many _states_ which can relate to any number/thing they wants. In this case there's no reason to hold a negative N numbers of bugs so you'd be much smarter to read the binary number off as a positive integer.

    Or unsigned, as #217 replied.

Doesn't this mean the brain (or something, never liked the idea of a central thinking/memory source for the body) can somewhat control the heart?

    Hi Sri!

Unfortunately anonymous posters could quite easily create a user just for a purposes of posting. A user name doen't validate that the person won't want to troll if that's the purpose of the user account.

With the moderation problems of the current system (in that moderat0rs giving their points to topics they don't know enough about but that look authoritive) would be more problematic when they have control over stories also.

Unfortunately I think a human touch is the only current way to see through the shit.

However what I'd like to see is an open possible article list that anyone can post on to help assist/(troll) the editors in choosing good stories - with the final decision being on the editor. Previous articles like the Quake text mode version will then hopefully be known about before posting (ed's can still post it with the backing that it doesn't look so accidental)

Thank you for your time, and may you get breakfast in bed tomorrow morning, champ.

    Hi you crazy kids, you

We both know there isn't a legal standpoint for doing what you're doing when it comes to legal action about taking down the information pertaining to decoding DVDs on dvdutils.com. There are perfectly legal reasons for decoding legally purchased DVDs so as to view them on other operating systems not supported by vendors. You have no legal right - and in my eyes no moral right - to threaten these websites with legal action. These are small sites largely run by passionate unpaid people for the benefit of others. They probably haven't the resources to stand against your false claims - and with the cost involved are forced (albeit in a defacto kinda way) to bow under your legal weight of faulty claims. Discussing the merits and flaws in DVD encryption is not illegal and your actions degrace the legal profession.

So you want to fly 2d pages in 3d with (i'm assuming) some lines for page links? Firstly HTML is one way linking (ie, goto coke.com and you don't get links out to the millions of sites saying "this site powered by coke", only whatever they link to on the site)... the concept of webpages and the 2d graphics that are placed on them are best viewed in a flat, 2d, perspective. When they get some formats/protocols that effectively emulate a 3d world (not VRML! ;) then maybe we'll see a use for genuine fly-through 3d content but till then it's (and who want's to read a page at an angle rather than right in front of them?).

I've been researching (or thinking over beers) about how a 3d web would be best used. A window in your browser that rendered the links in 3d by querying a search engine (like Google with the link=vote philosophy) would be useful.

However, mostly, I think the web will go 3d through a hack of quake3, it's so much of an easier transition.

Microsoft's goal isn't to produce good software, it's to get people to buy their software/hardware... which they're very good at (at least, in the short term).
