Gold is not like other commodities. Yes there is speculation in gold but the price keeps it out of reach of the little guy. Also people tend to hoard it as a very long term investment. It's a safety net. It's not a means of making profit but rather a means of safeguarding capital. Because when the dollar is gone and the Euro are gone, people will turn back to gold, either as a currency or as a means of establishing the value of a new currency.
Feel free to tell people how you THINK that gold is overvalued. I will keep my gold. The price would have to fall under $400/oz for me to lose money. Imagine how well I sleep at night.
