SGI is a very big business in terms of CGI and I really hope they don't collapse since they were always the one who discovered break-throughs in graphical technology.
actually the game doesn't include much blood (if at all) because the Nazis used to wear lots of clothes when they were out in the war and too much blood gushing out of them would be unrealistic as the cloth would stop most of it coming out.
This game is ultra realistic (up to a point and not in the style of one hit one kill factor like Flashpoint) so all of these factors have come into play
I reckon you should just have it open-source and let the community do the rest, with a little bit of advertising on your part you could have a good contender to the DivX codec... well it all depends on what you codec can do.
I have always wanted one that cuts down on the size of the video without losing any sound or picture quality.
So make it open-source as I quote from a film called AntiTrust -- "Code belongs to the world" or something like that:P hehe
I just had a LAN party 2 nights ago and spent the whole day and night have CS battles... damn its a cool game but its really hard, I got my ass fragged alot.
I found the best way was sometimes just to grab a shotgun with a kevlar vest and helmet and just go out there and do it all "Chow yun Fat style";)
Another Site bites the dust.
Dum dum dum.
Another site bites the dust.
Heh Slashdotted..
Anyway this will be a cool idea only if developers take advantage of it.. otherwise its pretty useless.
Sony should release something like it did the for the PSOne (Yaroze) so that people can create their own games and with Linux it would allow for much more.
Gamespot have always brought out pretty cool features but there reviews now suck and there site is really slow loading, not like in the early months of 2000 where they had a fast loading site with minimal graphics.
Anyway I loved the B&W feature so I will check out this one:) Thanks.
Actually, who he did work with for a bit was called Apple. The GUI thing was originally stolen from Xerox.
Oops I did mean he worked with Apple but Apple had a law suit out on Microsoft for copying the GUI of the Mac OS for Windows. They claimed Microsoft stole the idea of the start bar and everything.
Its pretty much inhumanly possible for a single person to 'get rid of all the bugs' in windows.
I meant Bill working with Microsoft as a company to get rid of all the bugs.
I remember installing some programs and then all of a sudden I see popup ads coming up when I wasn't even on any site!
I then see that Gator is quietly hidden inside my system without any detection at all except for the fact that ads are coming up.
Go to Add-Remove Programs and you will see Gator and some other program there... uninstalling them both will get rid of it of your system but how will everyone know what to do!?
I didn't want Gator installed but I guess you have to read through all that fine print to find out about it.
I have just got into 3D animation and it made me see 3D in a whole new light... I am current learning 3D MAX and while its not as good as maya it's still one of the best 3D programs to learn.... I have found that usual renders take around 5 minutes per frame... 5 minutes! that's without textures or anything... now if Square and NVidea can pull off the quality of CG in the FFMovie in real time then it will definitely put ATI into their corner crying.
NVidea have always been one step ahead in the graphic world and with a team up with Square noone can stop them.
Well maybe ATI should think about teaming up with Namco or something.
Quake IV: The battle against Sir Cam
on
Quake 4 Announced
·
· Score: 1
yep.. imagine the storyline about how the Sir Cam virus infected the strogg planet and cause all of the robots and machines to mal function..
I would love that:P
But anyway I loved all 3 Quake games.. well actually Quake was a bit well... not as good as Duke Nukem 3D.
When Quake II came out I was in heaven.. the character animations for deaths and everything where really good... good gameplay too.
Now Quake III... wow! Beautiful graphics, fast gameplay and tons and tons of gibs.
I reckon Quake IV should take Quake III's fast action and add even more eye candy whilst using Quake II's storyline and just make it more interactive.. similar to Half Life.
I will just sit back and wait.. twiddling my thumbs with anticipation
Well I hope not but since it does have an extra year to develop the film then it might be good.... the first Matrix movie was one of those movies which made you think.
Sometimes I even try to bend the cutlery at my house.... doesn't work though:(

Umm dude.. alot of sites arn't optimized to handle a lot of /. visitors :P Thus enters (dum dum dummm) the Slashdot Effect :)

"and even has Steven Spielberg listed in the game's credits as it draws heavily from the movie "Saving Private Ryan""
Stephen Spielberg's company DreamWorks helped work on the game which is why he is credited.

It said I already posted which wasn't true...
That is so cool now we will buy a computer and only to have a even more powerful computer be released the next day.
Everyone knows the only people who bought electric powered cars were those who were rich and environment-savvy peeps.
At least with those cars they were helping the ozone layer and fuel cells don't really change anything.
I say they should go back to the drawing boards but its a neat idea anyway.
Actually he did alter the boards to save energy consumption.. if you read the article you would of seen that.
"Why not just buy a GBA if you want portable games of similar quality"
He did it to prove it could be done, as with all of his other projects.
It was a good job done and I'm interested in what he will make next... perhaps a portable Dreamcast?
I don't want Lions wandering around town ... heck you all heard about the dingo that ate the baby now there will be ones about lions.
nah we had it make it minus a kill every time you killed a member and also if you killed a team-member 3 times then you got booted off the game.
This would be cool :)
;)

Worked as I scored 3 kills in 1 min

Ahh right thanks for the clarification.

This is just another way for Bill to extend his monopoly on the world.
I have heard that Mac OS X is now open source and same with Linux and Unix so if Windows isn't open source how can Bill claim that its his idea?
Sure he worked with Mac abit but he was the one who stole the GUI of Mac for Windows.
Jeez Bill should just relax and try to organise Windows a bit better and get rid of all the bugs.
The sky just turned really cloudy here in Australia and thunder can be heard.
I really hope it clears up by 1:30am (it's 5:30pm right now)
Preferably Western Australian Time.. its 2:30am here now and the sky is black and not filled with crazy different color streaks of light :(
