And they are paying for the maintenance too, via the same taxes. Don't like it? buy the road and deal with the maintenance yourself, without any taxpayer dollars. Don't want to do that? Shut the fuck up.

Yes, as a tax payer I AM entitled to use it if it is a through road. That's not even debatable. What the road was "designed for" isn't a factor here. If it's passable, and traffic data recommends it, I'm using it.

It is 100% illegal to deny me the right to drive on a taxpayer funded road. That has been proven again and again. Don't like it? buy the road, maintain it yourself, and deal with the consequences. That's your ONLY option.

You have zero proprietary rights to common, tax-payer created facilities. None at all. If you try to prevent others from using them, you should pay dearly. If you try by actively endangering people, you can and probably should pay with your life.

Precisely. Pay for your own road, or get over it.

If I paid for it, I'm using it, and if you try to stop me, I'll see you slapped down hard.

That said I no longer own a car or drive anywhere apart fromt he very occasional rental and this doesn't directly affect me but... You live on a road. People will drive on it. Fellow tax payers. They paid for it, they have a right to it, and if you don't like it, you should be trying to get the other roads improved.

    Otherwise shut the fuck up.

Horse shit. It's a fucking brain dead system. Using blind statistical numbers like that is a surefire way of ensuring that you have ZERO employee loyalty forever.

I worked for Seagate Software/VERITAS/Symantec through many mergers. Due to my specific skills I was totally safe from layoffs. For a time we had ex-Oracle execs, and such shit-born layoff policies were instituted.

Eventually I got sick of watching long time friends, who had done perfectly great jobs for years, walked out the door to maximize some VP's bonus.

So when given a good exit vector, I left for a better, less hate-driven opportunity. I declined to train a replacement. And I told them WHY.

I'm very glad I did. I hope that was really fucking expensive for them.

Well (and I say this as someone who lives within walking distance of his office and actually sold his car a year ago...) My parents live on the opposite coast of South Florida from me. Just long enough for a 200 mile charge to not be good for a round trip. Charging overnight isn't an option, because I have ZERO intention of staying overnight there. That pretty much eliminates the Tesla from my options when I eventually buy a new vehicle.

As a commuter vehicle, it could work, even if I lived much farther from the office than I do. As the sole reason I miss owning a car? Not so much.

Except that XBox and Valve Linux boxes do not play the games that I WANT to play, with the best possible resolution and detail. I also play games in VR now, and NOT on a mobile phone. I have no interest in doing that on an XBox. I do have consoles of course, but only for games that aren't available on my much more powerful gaming PC.

I'm not willing to forgo my main entertainment, or significantly limit it to what little is available on those platforms.

If I start detecting scans from the windows box doing things it should not, you'll certainly hear about it. I don't think even Microsoft would do something so blatant, and wind up in the news as installing what would effectively be a bot-net on windows 10 machines.

The ONLY reason I use a wireless keyboard for certain things with my HTPC (and now my Nvidia shield) is that the security of a wire is unnecessary, and incredibly inconvenient while sitting on my couch.
