Basically it is the same technology that I have used for the last 15 years within the business.
People can call the technilogy whatever they want, it is still the same technology that drives the computercentre. It always has, it always will be, the rest is just code..
I think that cloudcomputing is good, dont get me wrong. It is just what I have been doing for the last 15 years....
It took me 2 hours to get my ATI Radeon 9800 Pro to work on two screens with 3D acceleration. To say it does not work is not true. It is simply a kernel rebuild with the dri drivers unconfigured. The dri drivers you build yourself.
Also.. I have access to MDK10.x commercial edition at work and there it works out of the box.
This is really good news. That means, if the communication works, in a couple of hours we will know how it looks like on a distant clouded moon. Let's just hope that the defenses of Titan inhabitants don't shoot the probe down before the mission is over.;-) They might think it is an alien bomb.
Hahahaha.. *ROFL* Mod him funny... can't stop laughing...
Actually I have tried.

I have tried to get SciFi, SkyOne and other channels here in Sweden that send the content I am interested in but it was virtually impossible. I even asked a retailer when I was in London if it was possible to be a subscriber when I lived in Sweden and he said no. I pay for the channels I look at here in Sweden, don't get me wrong now, and I would gladly pay to be able to see SciFi/SkyOne etc as well. The result is: I cannot get Battlestar Galactica/Enterprise/Stargate etc here in Sweden in any other way other than downloading them from the Internet.
Will it come to Europe? I can't even buy the series here in Sweden. I have to use bittorrent do be able to watch the series which I think sucks because I really want the series on DVD.
Well.. I tried the kernel driver and it did not work either. I'll do a fresh install when I get home today and give it another try.
Does anyone have a good pointer to any howto on the net? And by good I mean step by step exactly how they managed to get it working. I have run Linux since 94 so I have the experience, but I haven't managed to solve this specific problem. This is very annoying and a big blow to my ego:-).
It is a Sapphire Radeon 9800 Pro with 128 Megs of memory. I use an ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe motherboard with 1 gig of memory.
Well.. it seems I have problems with the DRI thingys when I try out ATI:s driver.
I am running Mandrake 10.0 official and Kernel 2.6.3-7 on this box.
I bought the card because it offered best price/perf at that time, now I begin to wonder if I should toss the card out and buy an Nvidia card instead. As it is now the only OS I can run with 3D accel is WinXP and I do not want that (at least not all of the time)
I also have problems with 3D on Linux with a similar setup. I have a 9800 Pro card and can't get the 3D to work the way I want. Anyone having a link to a good troubleshooting guide?
+1 on that one .. I laughed my brains out ..
oh .. typo .. technoligy should be technology .. :-P sorry for that ..
Well ... cloud computing?

Or am I first?
Had a Lambda 8300 as a first computer. Black and White display, 2K ram and an extra 16k as a cartridge.

Also
Nvidia is as you say a 2 minute operation.
I was going to write that ;-)

Not everyone in Sweden has 100Mbit/s connections.
I only have 8 Mbit/s down and 1 Mbit/s up.
Two static IP:s though, that's nice =)
I own a N610c ... *bummer*
Hope it is not affected...
The Firefly series rocks .. at least the episodes I've seen.
Will they continue to record the series?
Will it come to Europe? I can't even buy the series here in Sweden. I have to use bittorrent do be able to watch the series which I think sucks because I really want the series on DVD.
The tips at linuxquestions.org worked like a charm. 4700 fps in glxgears and about 800 in fgl_glxgears.
On top of that DualScreen works as well.
Now I just need to install my Neverwinter Nights linux client and off we go.
Thanks for all your help.
Are you using the ATI prop. drivers?
Thanx for all of the tips folks.
Thanks for the tip. I'll try this one out as well.

And see if my Radeon 9800 Pro will work with my Nvidia Nforce2 chipset.
Anyone gotten Nvidia Nforce2 and Radeon 9800 Pro working with 3d Accel?
*ROTFL*
;-)
Best comment so far on slashdot.
BTW. In risk of being redundant..
Is Phoenix a good name for a craft. Isn't that the name of a specific bird that burns up?
Yup ... it is like that .. ppl age you know ;-)
.. hehe
I thought your post was quite funny
Maybee you are right .. I really like this card though. It was cheap and it has a blasting good performance in Windows.

drivers/usb/spca50x.c: tmp = pussy + i; // pointer to pussy with skipped shit (spaces and tabs)
.. a parental filter on the code would be nice. ;-)
Hmmm
I really hope you are joking ...
