If you have a chimera or xenotransplant, you have a constant low-level viral load in the blood, and so human cells are constantly exposed to animal viruses. The opportunity for cross-species infection is much higher as a result.
do you know of any studies supporting this assertion?
BT, astonished by having seen the first correctly formatted HTTP request ever in their logs, reported the incident to police.
"Nobody follows RFCs these days -- microsoft has firmly established that standards are there to be ignored. Anyone following the HTTP RFCs as strictly and to the exact letter as this individual did is obviously up to no good, so we reported the incident to police as an obvious terrorist act.".
the police arrested him based on a complaint from BT.
you see, BT = big corpration. big money. police = BT bitches. what BT says, police does. no questions asked.
though it looks like in this case, the unquestioning obedience of the police to BT is going to backfire in this case.
this is not too different from what happens in the usa. police being at the beck and call of big business. and every once in a while a PR disaster as some big corp makes a mistake and the police get a black eye for unquestioningly following it without any investigations.
cs monitor is highly regarded as one of the best unbiased newspapers in the nation. pretty weird to be published by a religious movement that is known to be more than just a little nutty, but apparently they are well able to separate religion and politics from their journalism.
it's not just him who says it's non partisan. it's widely accepted by journalistic experts.
anyone who grew up on or near a farm knows that cows, like chickens, are basically vegetables with legs. they have the intelligence of a potted petunia.
if you single out "human charasteristics, at least in the cellular level", then you effectively have banned cross-species organ transplants. at least human->animal.
but it wasn't so long ago that there was "moral uproar" about pig->human organ transplants.
hell, at the turn of the century they were objecting to vaccination on "moral grounds", saying doctors had "no right to play god".
the link you posted was brain to body weight ratios, which is completely irrelevant to the discussion.
the parent poster was 100% correct. humans do have much brains several thousand times larger than mice, and human brain cells would not be optimal for living as a mouse.
increase the mouse's brain size several thousand times, then there might be an issue with mouse sentience.
it's rather unlikely you're going to get anything approaching sentience from 0.4 grams of brain cells.
...hasn't posted a "corrected" version of this, clearly showing they own C and every language ever derived from it.
...it didn't have such unbelievably crappy video.
now i'm not expecting apple to put a geforce 6800 or radeon x800 in, but come on -- a 32mb radeon 9200??? .
not many people want a vomit-colored pc on their desktop.
nobody ever bought an apple product because it was competitively priced.
that site is credulous bullshit. it's not useful in the least, and there are no facts on it at all.
the correct site name should be "the gullible spectacle" or "the credulous spectacle". they are anything but skeptical.
...when people are paying $30, $40 or more per month for satellite or cable.
I mean really, how many shows do you really watch per month? 10? 20? If you could pay per tv episode, consumers would save money.
Also, it would give the networks a much more accurate way to gauge viewing audiences than the flawed nielsen stuff.
they could always give away the pilot episode for free.
the USA sent men to the moon in the middle of one of the most tumultuous decades in our nation's history.
so why did you leave?
the alternatives being?
they can expect anything they like. they can expect the moon to explode and the earth to spiral into the sun, doesnt mean it will happen.
what happens if he doesnt resign though?
what's mind boggling is this magistrate hasn't been forcefully evicted from his position, merely "suspended".
it's more like slashing the tires of everyones car in a 10 block radius.

i don't see why it would cause cross-species-barrier viruses to emerge, any more likely than say, having contact with house pets.
What's wrong is that you are creating a large risk of viruses jumping the species barier to humans
this already happens in nature. avian flu anyone?
around the turn of the century, scientists had to fight the public notion that vaccination was "immoral" or "unethical".
arguments like, vaccination trivializes humanity, vaccination defies the will of god, vaccination contaminates your body with (xyz animal), etc.
your argument has a rather 1800s ring to it.
dont need to worry about that, such mutations already occur naturally in nature without any intervention at all. ever heard of avian flu?
