There's another feature aside from smart playlist called Party Shuffle
Now with Selective Listening
Of course your party deserves a great soundtrack, and iTunes helps you jump-start your set list. The new Party Shuffle feature creates a dynamic playlist, similar to shuffle play, from either your entire library or a designated playlist. You can review upcoming songs to reorder or delete on the fly, taking charge like the DJ you always wanted to be. You or a guest can add songs to the mix at any time. If you like the random picks, you can always save them in a personal playlist. And of course, you can use Party Shuffle when listening to music alone, too. So your playlist is always full, and always full of good tunes.
They already give away billions a year, this is just one thing they happen to be doing. And that's just Microsoft. Bill gives away tons of his personal money, via the Bill and Melinda Gates Fondation, too.
From all the pre XBOX release stuff I saw it was my understanding that they did this for their games too. The idea being you don't end up with 40 billion crappy PS1 like games like you see decomposing in bargain bins.
It is still AI though. A Neural Network stops learning at some point, but it's still AI right? It's just a difference between per learning and lazy learning.
Maybe we need some modifiers for games, Active or Static AI.
Eh, I'm not sure I buy that. Their data is different big deal. MSN has better info than google in some cases. The military base I grew up on gets much much better resolution on MSN's than on google. I can't even pick out my neighborhood on googles. So it's kinda nice msn's is different for me.
Not exactly. I don't know if it's due to the underlying search or the integration but I tend to get more relevant searches for my suburban address. I live just north of Dallas and Google maps wants to give me hits primarily closer to Dallas, where MS's gives me hits around my actual address. Granted Google ends up giving me more ( maybe MSs doesn't reach out far enough ) but it looks like MSs local search integrated is more relevant.
I love how people love Macs because it's a very closed proprietary system that can then be controlled by a single entity. Isn't this what the/. crowd is supposed to be railing against?
I think I had the same kyocera, man that was a good phone. Mine died after about 2 years, as in dead deady dead, couldn't even get the numbers off of it. I then replaced it with the cheapest piece of crap I could fine coming to $200. go Sprint!
I was trying to free room on my 36GB laptop HD and discovered GDS taking 1 GB of disk space for it's index's. On my desktop that'd be fine, but it's way too much for my laptops small hard drive. though I then turned around and installed 4GB of WoW...
well it was still an illegal act. what if they had bought drugs on campus to demonstrate that it was possible and then turned around and gave the drugs to the police or administration? It's still illegal. They say they destroyed the SSNs/gave back all the weed, but who really knows. What if they sell the HD the numbers were stolen from and someone recovers them?
They could have done a little to cover their butts, like notifing a teacher ( anonymously ) about the intended act so there was foreknowledge they meant nothing about it, or even going to the principle and telling him the system was insecure and that they'd like to prove it.
I'm really not sure how he did that. I replaced my batter and the only thing I almost accidently did was sever one of the data cables as I accidently was using it for leverage:P But all is well and my ipod has a new battery for 50% the cost and a little education. The kid must have been playing mad scientist doctor with the thing if he used enough force to do such a thing
I seriously doubt it's that simple. Just because some article says it doesn't me it's true, or that it's the whole truth. 80 pastors could have approached him, but maybe the one is the only one of note.
they are. They, nor I, stated otherwise. This is exactly why the engr said it would be impossible. To be able to sway 1500 competent female engr is not exactly doable, especially since google is growing a lot now too. They have high standards for their hiring in general, they often make a number of false negatives in hiring because they don't want to waste resources on a potential false positive.
What? This isn't about Kudzu? bah!!
Shouldn't this be under the Software category?
Wonderful! Another advance in increasing the number of crappy snapshots in the world!
I belive this is directly related to why squinting your eyes helps you see better
Spandex-jumpsuit future where food production is controlled by some central authority
Uh, FDA? USDA?

from apple's iTunes site
While they say random I wonder if there's more going on behind the scenes that might overlap with the MS patent
Doesn't iTunes have something like an auto DJ that this could conflict with?
Then why are they taught in almost every AI text book as well in Tom Mitchell's Machine Learning text?
Though I will accept the adage that "Once an AI problem is solved it's no longer AI."

haha, you must be new around here....

Research ain't cheap. Think of how much money/time they spent trying other ideas etc....
You'd have to hit it with lightening first to make it hurt people...

That being said I get my new mac on

I'd be curious as to the size of MS's indexes.

Isn't that the equivalent of a 50% tax?
While this currently does Yahoo and google, it would be neat if it includes MSn at some point.
m l
It's a neat way of seeing how the two engine's compare.
