At least eight... the feds (stragely enough, the post office) raided eight ITT campuses about a month ago. They still aren't saying why because the warrants were sealed, which makes a warrant pretty useless concidering the fourth amendment and all.

If the feds aren't going to play by their own rules then why the fuck should you? Think about that the next time you're grudgingly being a law abiding citizen.
And remember, if we all drive on the left side of the road we'll all fit on the left side of the road. Are you a part of the problem or solution?

You can also find a brainwave generator in CoolEdit... At least in the 96 version. I've fiddled with it a bit, mixing alpha (superlearning waveform) or delta (lucid dreaming waveform) waves on top of pink noise. i've listened to the alpha waves while studying but not under any controlled environment where i could tell a differnce between with/without. I've also tried subliminal messages woven into the brainwaves.
The subliminal messages did not work. once again, no controlled environment and i didn't spend a lot of time tweaking messages, frequencies or noise color.
The jury is still out on brainwave theory though. I can't tell alot of difference on myself, and I don't think that i could get my wife to sit still long enough to be a good test subject. I've been tempted to build the EEG project on Sourceforge so a complete feedback loop could be constructed.

Oh, and if you're a programmer who's extremely bored you might try writing a plugin for Winamp for brainwave generation.

Face it, PEOPLE WANT EYE CANDY otherwise Nvidia and ATI would be out of business. Not to mention that eye candy can help get a point across... when used correctly.

Speed limits on midwest highways are typically 65 MPH but people generally exceed this by about 15 MPH because they realize that the roads are engineered for greater speeds. Microsoft is exceeding the "standards speed limit" becasue they realize that the internet and computers are designed for greater speeds/standards.

Besides all that I'm curious why the mozilla team can't facture off a new group to "keep up with the microsofts." Are those parts of their engine patented? Right now Microsoft calims that their next browser release will coincide with longhorn... a couple of years off. Shouldn't that be more than enough time to mimic their non-standard rendering? Not to mention mimicing in a more secure fashion - beat 'em at their own game. Hell, throw in a few non-standard procedures of your own - we'll just call 'em easter eggs.

And concerning the "programmers" who bite the hooks... well, this is capitalism at work. Either you get with the program and use the latest tools or you get bumped off of the road by the guy who took the 80 MPH bus.
