It comes down to one thing. If you can get your hands on one or more Wiis that you don't need, it's free money. You can think what you want, but I successfully bought two Wiis on Amazon yesterday and I'm going to sell them on Ebay to help pay for Christmas presents. Why not? If you want to make money, it's not that hard.

It's not like I'm stealing bread from a little kid's mouth. It's a freaking GAME CONSOLE! Totally superfluous item. If people want to pay a little extra to take advantage of my buying skills, then so be it.

They have a much stronger hold on the advertising market

Google's hold on the advertising market lasts only as long as they bring hordes of searchers to the companies that advertise. As far as I know, Google is not the only company that provides an AdWords form of income. If the number of searchers drop to a certain level, they will simply switch to whichever search engine takes over.

Again, none of this is as difficult as getting everyday users to switch to a new OS.

Google has anything but a monopoly. The search business can easily go to an engine that performs better. Google has most of the market share because they are quite simply the best at performing searches.

Microsoft on the other hand plays in a completely different arena. Switching from one OS to another is nearly impossible for many users and at least difficult for most.

No, Google has a long way to go before they become anything like Microsoft, no matter what their tactics may appear like.

How can you innovate without changing interface at least some? If it's worse than the old interface, ok. But that's not even the complaint from a lot of people. They just don't like the fact that it changed. Oh well, I'm sure the billions they rake in despite this will keep them from taking it too much to heart.

When faced with a workforce shortage, in no other field has the answer been to import skilled labor from other countries. The answer has always been to increase pay until the appropriate number of skilled candidates are attracted.

Allowing companies to import all of the skilled labor at cheap prices sets the stage for a dangerous trend. Ultimately it will sink wages throughout the workforce as companies see they can start trying this in other fields.

The government seems to think it has to use tarrifs to protect the iron industry but actively participates in the lowering of wages in the IT field.

I sincerely hope this starts to become a bigger issue and the word gets out. Undoubtedly if other fields start getting hit, the politicians will start to feel the pressure.
