I made some payments for the bike I'm riding round the world a couple years ago when the OZ dollar was worth 52 cents American. Now it's up to 78 cents and I'm screwed. I still owe money on the bike. It would've been cheaper for me to pay the credit card interest (it's been bouncing between 0% and 3.9%).

I tried to pay but I think the guy who's building the bike thought he was doing me a favor by not getting more money. Argh!

If your clients are just looking for something to check email, web access and are willing to save in .txt they should get a Psion 5mx. I've done plenty of research on this because that's what I need for my trip round the world. They run off AA batteries which last 20-30 hours.

But of course, it's not the newest and latest, and the screen is black and white. But if your clients are geeks, there is a linux version of it.

Good retailer of refurbished ones. Linux version.

If anyone buys one, please mention my name: Dave Smith. I'm riding a small motorcycle round the world and Paul at Psionflexi has been really helpful.

This land is your land, this land is my land
From California, to the New York Island
From the redwood forest, to the gulf stream waters
This land was made for you and me

As I was walking a ribbon of highway
I saw above me an endless skyway
I saw below me a golden valley
This land was made for you and me

    Chorus

I've roamed and rambled and I've followed my footsteps
To the sparkling sands of her diamond deserts
And all around me a voice was sounding
This land was made for you and me

    Chorus

The sun comes shining as I was strolling
The wheat fields waving and the dust clouds rolling
The fog was lifting a voice come chanting
This land was made for you and me

    Chorus

As I was walkin' - I saw a sign there
And that sign said - no tress passin'
But on the other side .... it didn't say nothin!
Now that side was made for you and me!

    Chorus

In the squares of the city - In the shadow of the steeple
Near the relief office - I see my people
And some are grumblin' and some are wonderin'
If this land's still made for you and me.

Born down in a dead man's town
The first kick I took was when I hit the ground

'Til you spend half your life just covering up

    [chorus:]

I got in a little hometown jam
And so they put a rifle in my hands
    Sent me off to Vietnam
To go and kill the yellow man

    [chorus]

Come back home to the refinery
Hiring man says "Son if it was up to me"
I go down to see the V.A. man
He said "Son don't you understand"

    [chorus]

I had a buddy at Khe Sahn
    Fighting off the Viet Cong
They're still there, he's all gone
He had a little girl in Saigon
I got a picture of him in her arms

Down in the shadow of the penitentiary
Out by the gas fires of the refinery
I'm ten years down the road
Nowhere to run, ain't got nowhere to go

The best is no more 200 virus messages going through names A to Z. I'm sure a good spam filter would take care of the catch-all spam.

My spam rate went way up with my previous provider (servercentral). I don't know if I just got hit hard or if they're just crappy. Lots of it was addressed to servercentral@servercentral.com Just 86'ing that address cut spam back.

My first email said, "you keep changing how much you owe us, and when will you pay us" and got a response that said "we'll answer in 7-10 business days". I replied to that email once a month. Then I'd get the same 7-10 email which I'd respond to the next month. That went on for a year or a bit longer. Then they started answering, "You need to upgrade your mp3 account to get an answer".

Ah yes, the mp3 formula of collecting money for you, that they won't send out. And occasionally changing the amount owed without explanation.

Then when enough people bitch about it, start charging money for an email response. Say, the emails I have where they wanted more of my money to answer why they haven't paid me yet. I didn't pay the money so I never got an answer. But I sure am glad I helped mp3 make money.
