(except a server will host a few realms, so a server can affect a few realms but not everyone). but its the entire realm that suffers. you have no exscape.
It looks like second life is one large world. If ove piece of land is bad, you can spend some time away from it at a strip club while things settle down.
Corel has never woried about its native support for pdf.
I can see microsoft think that. Alot of Adobe bussiness will dissapear when that happens. especialy in acidemics where office is "free" and on every computer. We restrict who gets and does not get a pdf writer becuase of cost. (reader is standard install).
We have a lot of clueless people when it comes to computers, they could care less if its adobe or microsoft making the PDF. they are already in word when they do it.

Where the true advantage of the.net is the common library of functions. syntax is just that, syntax. If you can code it in C#, than you can code it in VB.Net.
Im a C# programmer at heart, but the existing codebase here is VB. I migrate it to vb.net as needed and all new stuf is coded that way.
vb.net is not the same old vb6 that you grew up with. It now has all the advantages of C#, but with the VB syntax. When your employer is clueless about.Net, just explain to him its VB7 and that VB6 is loosing support.
What these cheaters done understand is that the ranking is there to place you against players of even skill. by ranking up, they get placed against players of better skill. at that point they have to cheat keep the rank.
I was a average player. I could school all my real life friends, but they didn't have halo. I reached a rank where the matches were even and it was fun. I got a little better by getting the shotgun and hiding in the corner. It worked every time, until I moved up a rank. It never worked in that bracket, the players were better and knew the trick. I was at the loosing end even when i played like normal and eventualy droped back down to where I belonged.
They have it all wrong, they should drop rank to clean up on the less skiled players. Atleast they run in a circle and you dont have to risk the banhammer.
While you have some very valid points, parenting has alot to do with it. The parents of these kids have been poor parents for a long time. It not that there is one correct way to raise a kid, but the leasons they need to learn are the same. These parent have failed to teach there kids how to behave correctly and most cases have lost toutch with them. You have to be a parent from day one.
If you possibly could blame the games, its because of over exposure to them. Something that proper parenting could correct. The story never reads "Johny spends all his time with his parents and just got his first video game so he decided to kill some classmates", its more common to see "Johny comes home to an empty house after school because both parents are working and he fills the time playing violent games."
to get started, you have to charge them 0.00 for all past work but list it. And then bill them correctly for any new work you do.
From here on out. any work you do for any customer will show up on an invoice. If you dont want to charge for something, adjust it. Byt you want your client to see that you adjusted it and you did the work.
If a job took you 4 hours and you feel that it should be a 2.5 hour job. Invoice all 4 hours but adjust 1.5 of them for free. It makes them less likly to complain about the 2.5 hours you ask them to pay and they feel like they got more for there money.
This works better when you have a customer base and are doing it for more than just friends and family. at the same time, some people you just have to cut off.
Any company that knowingly (or thinks they are) in vialation will quickly signup for whatever universal license agreement that will cover them. Most of the time those people have already looked at the options and know what they need to do.
Unfortuanatly they did not back off when someone called the bluff. Know when to fold um.
Im not justifying it, im just saying its thinking outside the box. And i would guess that its very effective.
for all your customers, send them a bill for all the work you have done. On that same bill, add an adjustment that brings that bill to $0.00. Give it a lable of "No charge for previous work" or "Service done at no cost".
Make sure your rates are posted on it.
It will list all the work you have done for them in hours and when you charge them for the next call, they have nothing to complain about. Also by charging them they will call less.
Never ever do anything for free. charge them $0.00 for it so it shows up on the invoice. always send an invoice for work done, even if its at $0.00. That shows them how much you are worth to them and they are more willing to pay for the stuff you do charge for.
They are literly playing with fire. We think its ok to help those people and we think we are doing something great for them.
But in reality, we are playing with there lives. Once they do get busted, they suffer very strong punishments that we don't have to face.

To calssify something as spyware depends on its intent. Anti-virus, anti-spyware, and google bar send more info home than the warden does and the gamers have already given anything worth any farmable value to them. They are not profiling you, not logging anything about you, and not sending detailed reports to Blizzard.
If you are that conserned with your privacy, I am surprised that you even use the internet.
Its not that easy. I will not go into the tech details, but blizzard protects against that.
One bot was truly amazing and in the right hands was very realistic and hard to detect. They overcame Blizzards general tricks quickly. Once they started a pay service for the bot, they were Blizzards top target.
It was a cat and mouse game. Warden would protect from something, bot writers would get around that, then Blizzard would fix that exact workaround. That happened several times. You know Blizzard was running that bot in its own labs.
The final trick that got to the bot (besides the amount of time each hack was taking) was making the warden crippled while under a debugger and when the bot revision went to test, the test team lost there accounts.
The debugger detail was figured out too late, one developer was looking at the assembly and recognised that the code was checking for a debugger. They were a very talented group and have released the bot open source now that the project is over.
If you have a good manager or boss, make them look good. If you are important to his sucess as he gets promoted or moves on to new opprotunities, You can ride that with him.
A good boss knows he needs good people and will keep them with him.
Lets assume that they did it at work and are now given a deadline.
I say go for it. Let your boss know that you need to dedicate more time to the project and cannot meet the deadline with the interuptions of your current job.
At 3/4 of the way finished send an email to your boss and copy HR on it asking to be reclassified with a different job title because the duties of your job have changed so much. (some companies call this a pay raise)
Never say it is done. We all know that revisions will need to be made and bugs to be fixed. Give it a long beta phase. I bet you will get lots of visibility because of the project. Once it goes to the support phase, you boss will still be clueless and you will be called for everything relating to it.
Now you have a internal project that the whole company depends on and goes to you for support. It makes your boss look good and gives you a great refference. You get exposure to the develoment process and customer side of programming.
Its a great resume builder and I am guessing this is just a temp job anyway. So once it feels stable, find another job. Then you can make more money when they contract you to fix, upgrade, redesign, or want to scale it.
Besides, if they are developers at heart, they would prefer to do the project than their real jobs.

now repeat that over and over and over and that is the big city experience you get in a major city.
I loved going up in rank because I lacked skill in comparison. I would get better playing beter players as i learned their tactics. Once you finaly master those skills, you go up in rank and get owned again.
Its also interesting seeking players in action at different skills. early on people hunt for the sword and fought up close. then people start duel weilding wepons that are the same or shotgun camp. Then they learned to charge the wepon in the left hand, blast the shield and cap them with a machine gun. later the pistal replaced the machine gun in that combo, then the assult rifle.
By that time the snipers are deadly, people give up the second wepon for plazma gernades, players are talking to each other, and the sword is a flag that says snipe me.
I enjoyed it when i played. I never made it very far up the ranking. But playing better players is a good thing, even if you get owned from time to time.

The solution for non admin users is to disconnect the mapped drive.

In games, when smeone askes for cheat codes i give them the Alt-4 or say "Hold down Ctrl and type Q U I C K for a speed boost". Ctrl-Q kicks them out.
