Finally! An agenda has been created..

We must not proceed without an agenda and a 10 year vision.

One question: Was this vision stated or was it just written down?

The Unreal4Ever & ChaosUT mods for the Unreal series.

Wow, I remember playing Chaos with a buddy of mine for weeks.

The only map we'd play was warehouse as there were only a couple of ways the level itself could kill you..
Load up a few player model packs, maybe some skins..

Oh, and also, you had to set the computer on variable skill. 'course, if you played long enough the computer players would Rail you as soon as any of the bounding box was "Visible" to them. made for a few minutes of cheap shots by the computer until we figured out that the computer's ability was reset if the map changed...

About the only other mod that gets any love from me every now and again is the "Alien Swarm" Mod for UT2k4. Love me some top down action.

Well, that and my own home-blend of tweaks for Sins of a Solar Empire.

Or, here's a thought, IANASE(I am not a Software Engineer) (and I'm just spit-balling here..) How about having an OS that isn't made by cutting up into little pieces said OS and creating all of those little pieces separately and then attempting to glue those pieces back together again without leaving gaping holes in the security model.

How would that be? I think M$ can afford to take the time to write quality code (that doesn't include coding for the kitchen sink,) now that they no longer reside (as a company,) in someone's garage.. (Yes, I know that it was Apple that was in the garage. I'm trying to make a point here.)

Other than the obvious cost, which could be managed anyway, what's to stop us from setting up a laser repeating station at or before the point that the signal degrades to uselessness?

As far as the cost management goes, we wouldn't necessarily need to transmit to (to use your example,) Pluto to begin with. But if we started with trying to transmit to somewhere closer, say, Mars, then we (in theory,) shouldn't need as many laser repeaters to bridge the gap. And we should be able to keep the repeater in a solar-synchronous position fairly easily. This seems like it would allow for faster transmissions.

Once the signal got to the other location it could be diverted to the end point fairly easily using standard radio transmission.

I was under the impression that right and wrong were mutually exclusive. If it's not right then it has to be wrong.

I wish I lived in a world as black and white as you do. This arguement reminds me of the story in the Bible about Jesus healing a man on the Sabbath.

Likewise, We live in a legalistic society. Not only ready to pounce on someone if they cross our boundary, but we also expect, nay, demand grace when we ourselves do it. Not to mention the idea that What's good good and right for one person is often times bad and wrong for another. And what about times when something is good and at the same time wrong. I know for my life, that so often what I believe is good is also almost as often wrong for my life. (I would love to do nothing more than play video games all day long, but I konw that this would be wrong for my life and goals.)

So, often times, the ideas that mankind has of right and wrong are so intertwined that it's really no wonder that this country is as bad off as it is.

Out here in Vancouver, WA we were able to see a pretty impressive show. It was clear save for a moderate sized cirrus cloud that passed over the course of our time out there. But that cloud did nothing to obscure even a lot of the smaller ones. Alas, I did not keep close track, but there were probably close to an average of 1/sec for the roughly two hours we were out there ending roughly 2AM PST.. 'course due the lights of Portland lighting conditions could've better. But hey, I'm not complaining. It was still quite a show.
