One of the ways described in litterature makes use of the variation
in current in the ac line.Others were simply picking up the rf and used a
tv monitor with variable h and v frequencies to actually look at what was on the
    monitor.
Still .. it's no big news . they are simply reproducing what's been known

Nice in theory .. there's many obstacles to such a
gadget. One of the most important factors aint frequency.
it's stability . good quality crystals need to be in small
ovens to keep the frequency stable. Is the frequency changing
with temperature ? If so does it need the chip to be kept also
at a very specific temperature ? How about repeatability ?
By using the production technique they have ,can they make two
parts oscillate at the same frequency as easily as crystals ?

BTW .. as much as you can devide with oscillators based on crystals
you can use frequency multipliers to acheive the higher frequecies ..
but the problem is always the same .. drift.

All nice details the engineers might/might not be able to solve for out
    the lab use.

New technologies are nice in only one case : when they work out the lab.

    think : conduits

Whatever you put in for the a/v and the networking
think ahead and pass it under conduits. You can then
    change wiring easily.

Also think ahead and so pass networking cable to most
device locations at the same time you pass the other
cables. Most projectors, video, and audio devices are moving in that direction.

I highly recommend to plan ahead for automation like
amx or crestron. it's not only fun , it's also very
usefull to have. If you love high tech , just take a
