    and let me add one thing that us "tech savvy" people forget, 400 million people use hotmail a day, which in my eyes is mindblowing in itself, but 84% of those people are using IE!

    It's a fantastic thing, this is a standards process that the Australian Government is going to implement across the agencies, and once its certified with CC for example, external parties will place trust in the process.

    Basically the government is saying "we are not in the business of selling this technology, we like it, please use it and sell it back to us"

    Windows NT was based on DEC VMS, which was released in 1980 with version 2.0 VAX/VMS, so Windows NT is based on 25 year old technology.

    That is exactly what the courts are here to do, interpret the laws at this specific moment in time. They have done this and now have set a precident in the United States to allow other "bloggers" to be caught up in the state of affairs that is the current administration.

    Looking forward I can see why the Judicial System did this, what happens if a terrorist bloggs and uses "I'm a journalist, and I wont give you my information", I am certain the American public would be up in the air wanting that information.

    The current direction of the appointments to the highest courts in the land of more conservative judges means that conservatism flows down through the brances and this is the kind of judgements we can expect in the future.

    Basically your cell phone provider isn't stripping the right digits from the number being presented to it, and as such the number being presented to your phone is strange...

    All that number means is

    + (international dial)
    00 (in some countries this is also international)
    819 (area code) ...

    I saw this same problem when traveling through the midwest a few months ago.

    I'm looking at writing the hooks into XBMC to do this with a MythTV box. So basically xbox hooked straight to your tv and the MythTV box somewhere else and both live streaming and pre-recorded streaming via the xbox over ethernet.

    After that I'm sure people will write "TiVo" style intellegence into the XBMC to allow it to do smart things.

    Get a card that writes the total raid config to each drive, then if the controller fails and you replace it with the same model etc, it will find the information on the disk and continue on its way.

    As a "Regional Systems Support Engineer for Asia Pacific" some of the things we used to do for our customers were totally amazing in this day and age.

    One thing that I remember doing for one my customers is shipping a part on a hired helecopter because it was the fastest way to get me the part and the customer was on a "DEC Protect/Recover All" contract, which mean NOTHING was too much trouble.

    Those were the days.

    Sorry, Windows is based on code stolen from VMS (Digital Equipment Corp), with WNT one letter different from VMS.

    How do I know, I was there when DEC wouldn't pay the VMS developers any more money and they went "somewhere" else with DEC's IP inside their heads.

    No, ask HOW...

    Because if the US regulates VoIP, it will just move offshore the next day. If none of the main services are offered via inside the US borders, what right does the US authorities have to tax it.

    This little devil is already out of the bottle, and no matter how much huffing and bluffing they do, it aint going back into that bottle. Just like P2P applications are being brought under control, VoIP if they try to regulate it like the POTS service will just change into something that is just slightly outside the reach of authorities.
