This is not true... while direct sunlight and constant touching can fade the image itself, the disc is no more or less durable or reliable. It is simply a chemical reaction in dye on the top of the disc.
Having used these drives already I am disappointed in the quality of print on the DVD lightscribe discs. The print on CD is quite nice but the DVD comes out somewhat blurry in comparison.
As silly as parent may sound... it's true. People seem to be more sensitive to your words when they report to you, you can't just walk up and say 'that sucks' without causing waves where you could have walked up to the same co-worker before and said "wow you screwed that up big" with no hassle. While you need to listen (as you would expect them to do to you) and not look 'down' on them, you do need to seperate yourself from previously relationships when possible.
I worked at a movie theatre.... we had people sleeping in front of the theatre for over a week.... they got pretty pissed off me walking in about 10 minutes before tix went on sale and walking out with a handful of them...:)
Is that the Delicious Monster booth was empty on the last day of Macworld, looks like they got bored and packed up a day early so no one was there on Friday.
Well for one it detected RealVNC as a potential spyware threat, even though it's a low risk one and recommended action is ignore... I remember a while ago when XP came out there was a hassle regarding XP licensing and other non-MS remote software to access the machine...
Although you may not be a fan, keeping things simple and not re-inventing the wheel might help. You should consider contacting a company like WebEx which provides great application sharing/conferencing services to many companies, and explain what you're doing and why. It might be a great idea for them to participate (good publicity, maybe they'll have a press release) and get more attention for your event and ultimately raising money. If they donate their services you acknowledge them as a sponsor, etc.
Actually those games are my second memory, my first being smashing keys at age 3 on a Commodore Pet.
But Scott Adam's adventure series on the Vic 20 was a pretty awesome series of games that helped my typing skills. The name of your game was Voodoo Castle.:)
Actually the ThinkGeek one can be made somewhat more dangerous...
The following very large number is designed to impress: The power density of a 1 mW laser beam when focused to a spot of around 2 um (which isn't difficult with a simple convex lens) is around 250,000,000 W per square meter! Don't let that spot be in the back of one of your own or someone else's eyeballs!
When you graduate to higher power lasers (e.g., argon ion) rated Class IIIb or more, additional very real dangers are present of both instant damage to vision and with Class IV lasers - the possibility of burning or setting fire to flesh and other things. The smallest CO2 laser is going to be rated Class IV!
The only ad that pissed me off is the one about copying movies, getting really tired of seeing it, and I see it several times a month. I don't copy movies, I go to see them in theatres. Yet after giving my money to the theatre I need to learn a lesson about how stealing is wrong.
Ropongi? Sure, but if you just want hookers check out Shinjuku... walking out the a hotel in Shinjuku meant hookers coming up to me every 10 minutes... perhaps I just look like I needed one... but at 11 in the morning?
Incorrect, the top of the CD or DVD media is coated with a special dye that reacts to the laser and has no effect on the bottom of the disc.

At Macworld LaCie made quite clear that they plan on shipping with Mac software as well.

I would have mod'd you up if I had point, I'm tired of people modding down others for opinion. It was opinion, not flamebait.
Mod up your bat, and do break dance moves while hitting home runs into crowd of oiled up lesbians.
You have a torrent for this game?
Obligatory "You must be new here, let me show you around" post.
I thought this was going to be a way to be rid of the buzzword 'synergy'.

Well they're doing so good but they ditched a full day of potential sales at MacWorld?
Is that the Delicious Monster booth was empty on the last day of Macworld, looks like they got bored and packed up a day early so no one was there on Friday.
>> How would this extend their monopoly?

It's actually funnier wrong.... so deal with it ;0

You're assuming they paid 15k for it when it might be stolen or significantly discounted merchandise.
Check out iBackups.net, they sell downloads (and for extra $ discs) of popular PC products. They've been around for years...

Now multiply by 5...
(well I read part of it until I fell asleep)

For Christmas next year I want a Class IV laser!
Because you're prejudiced?
Give the guy a break, it's China for gods sake. They don't exactly impress us with technical knowledge and high quality goods.
Coming up though the Asguard will be entirely CG...
In order to monitor traffic, all traffic could essentially be doubled.
Well with the fall of suprnova and other torrent sites the traffic problem was cut in half anyway, we need a way to bring it back up.
