    I'm not sure if Freenet is completely safe either, see link below. If you don't want someone to find out what you did on a computer, the only way is to not do it.

    When I try to play files I've downloaded in Napster and am authorized to play them I get the following error:

    In order to play this file, you need to upgrade your media player to a version compatible with Windows Media Rights Manager V7. Select View Compatible Players below to see a list of compatible media players.

    These files play fine in Roxio AudioCentral, Napster, and Windows MediaPlayer, and I'm sure other apps. Whats interesting is that I get linked to this page for a list of compatible software and WinAmp is listed on there.

    In Canadian law a verbal contract is just as valid as a written contract. No one signs a verbal contract, the problem with verbal contracts is proving them beyond a 'he says she says'

    It appears to connect to flv1.broadcast.vip.dal.yahoo.com, and as per the source above (decompiled flash code) it uses RTMP.

    How to Stream an FLV Movie via RTMP

    If you want to stream in Flash, you will have to make an FLV file. FLV is currently proprietary so the only way to render is through Flash MX or Sorenson Spark.

    Hrm, looks like its in .FLV which can really only be played through flash, any other ideas?

    I'm still trying, but it looks like they got smart.

    a) The video is not contained within the .SWF file. The flash file itself is only 61.8 KB

    b) They did more then just load a video file on the same server, it appears to be coming from a streaming server of sorts, here is a piece from the flash code that someone brighter then me might be able to figure out:

    Instead of going to link, first go directly to flash file in your browser:

    1) Go to http://advision.webevents.yahoo.com/sony/spiderman 2/master5.swf.

    2) As the other poster says, now right click and use the 'zoom in' feature.

    I've been looking for something TiVoish in Canada and was going to pick up an actual TiVo until I read the following on the TiVo website:

    TiVo service is required and is available for $12.95 per month or $299 for Product Lifetime.

    Is that wrong or misleading, you're saying I CAN use the device, with the exception of scheduling or tv guide features...?

    While closing I load I'd had for 3 years with RBC the loan officier tried to get me to open a bank account with them, I told them I wouldn't be doing further business with them, she asked why.

    After a brief discussion, she had no idea what SCO was so she called over the bank manager who again, was totally clueless. Sigh. :)

    Occasionally I'll get something in my e-mail such as an uptime service for my website that looks quite interesting and I was about to subscribe when I read the entire e-mail and it stated that I signed up to recieve these e-mails.

    I e-mailed their sales dept and informed them that I would have signed up for their service if I heard about it another way, but would instead be going with a competitor because of the way they went spamming.

    You can call any post you want a troll or not, but the parent I replied to discusses aliens and god, how can you believe in one without being open the possibility of the other, since they are so closely related, there is no definate proof of eithers existence, and if they do exist may even be the same thing.

    Taito aims to sell 10,000 of the standalone game machines at $2,772 a unit.

    That is a bit expensive if all you're looking for is nostalgia since you can buy the original for $1295 or maybe off e-bay for $369 (current bid at time of comment).

    this isn't life or death and I can bash whoever I want. I use windows because I need it for some of the apps I use, I use Linux because I prefer it for some of what I do, and my post has nothing to do with that at all. It was just nonsensical.
