    I wouldn't want to see them making random updates, however by default in XP this feature is enabled. This clause in the license agreement frees them from any liability if someone fails to disable it. Yes it can be disabled, but since it isn't, Microsoft uses the license to cover themself for joe blow who says "oh i didn't know now i'm suing".

    Should have read eula.

    a) That was only an example of how it works
    b) Companies own more then one prefix, everytime i setup a clearnet phone (clearnet bought by telus) they would give me a list of prefixes, and i could choose any last 4 numbers beginning with on of the prefixes they owned.

    In toronto (possibly canada) the cell phone carriers own certain prefixes... for example 416-738 will ALWAYS be a telus mobility cell phone .....

    Who is going to front the bill for bandwidth?
    RIAA says that the cost is in the millions? for lost revenue due to pirate music. I would like to estimate the cost of bandwidth of the attacks in the billions. Although I have no data my claims are as substantiated as theirs.

    A written NDA is ust as legally binding as a verbal contract where you agree to the same terms, the only problem is proving the terms of the verbal contract.
