    I put up a website about two weeks ago, a small fan site for a video game I am a fan of. At this point in time, there are several searches that come up with my site as the first site such as "gamename video download".

    Although I thought the same thing he did, my "new" site gets the majority of its hits from google now..and it's less then 2 weeks old!

    ...although LCD costs might be cheaper to the large laptop oems, it's doubtful any of them will immediately pass on the profits. In fact I'm fairly sure they'll wait for the competition to move before they do.

    For the OEMS this price drop (potential price drop) would mean more profit with no effect on market share. Who would give that up unless they had to?

    technically they already do.

    You can build many programs based on the windows "engine". Such popular programs as mIRC and ICQ operate under this engine.

    Do you see the market share Windows has? While it isn't right for everyone, there are a lot of people who ARE right for open source but don't know it yet.
