As a former resident of New Mexico (along with Bill Gates:), I'd hope that a state representative would focus aim on the poverty of the south valley barrios in Albuquerque, the fact that NM has the highest rate of police shooting people in the back, or maybe even the violence and drug problems on the SE side of Abq. That should be a priority... but then again, that is just me.
There are very few HS level teachers who work more than 1000hrs/year. Many people choose teaching for the quality of level value... more free time to enjoy.
"(Morality aside,) Wise customers either cancelled their credit cards or placed blocks on Amazon being able to charge them."
Unfortunately that doesn't always work. Normally somewhere in the terms of sale you agree to NOT 'block' payment. If Amazon isn't able to charge your card, they'll just demand payment in some other form and eventually send you to collections.
Excellent point. People tend to forget that a company is nothing more than a group of actual human beings (real people like investors, owners, mangers, employees [you and me]) all working towards a common goal. The vast majority of companies are not evil just like the vast majority of people. If a company doesn't have bad intentions and is not breaking any laws, why should the government be allowed to come in and censor it's activities? Rememberer, whenever gov't regulation gets involved (whether it individual or industry related), all you get is bloated bureaucracies, increased costs, and decreased efficiency. In the end, the consumers AND the companies lose... and the gov't just gets fatter.
I think one of the biggest hurdles facing enterprise adoption of Vista is hardware requirements. I don't know if we have any machines in my company that could make use of the new features let alone run the damn thing.
I'm in no shape or form a scientist, but is this really an example of evolution? The long legs vs. short legs reminds of the the hiking boots vs. running shoes joke. I think this is a better example of the I-don't-have-to-outrun-the-bear-just-you school of thought.

"In 1996 he proved its importance by showing that mice without the myostatin-producing gene got twice as big."
"It's a little weapon I like to call a 'SPACE LASER'." ...well at least it is better than being called a Turbo laser.
These are geared for second, not third world nations.
"The "space" is not that big of a concern, really. "
I'd like to work where you do. Document size is always a concern in my department when we are dealing with 5,000,000+ page runs.

When you're Bill Gates, what's the difference between $71k and $100k? They're basically the same thing from his prospective.
"Fox News reports that Australian scientists have discovered a subterranean chamber"
Let me guess, they sent Geraldo to go open it.
Apparently even a little weight savings is a big deal for airlines. In China they want you to punch your ticket before boarding.
Didn't Bally Midway invent this stuff in the early 80's?

The metric system is the tool of the devil! My spaceship gets forty rods to the hogshead and that's the way I likes it!
"Perhaps we can finally be rid of this specter once and for all?"
Shouldn't it be "sphincter"?
Ahem, the 60's weren't that long ago either.
"All three of the earlier movies were shot in the 80s. How well do you think this character is going to translate into a movie made today?"
Most of us who saw the originals are still alive today. Why wouldn't the characters translate well? The 80's were NOT that long ago. Sheesh!

Save your money. How about a book? You can save even more by frequenting your local library.
"When I was an engineering student it was on every computer in the college of engineering."
Maybe I'm a little older but does anyone else remember learning CAD on the Apple II using RoboCAD?
News thats old. Stuff thats stale.
