Without cracks, hacks or what have you it depends on hardware being too expensive to buy more than one player. Worst case, if I want region 1 and region 2 I can buy 2 players and set the second one to region 2.
It takes a special kind of stupid to believe DVD players will stay expensive.
I have one of their WHR3-G54 WiFi routers and nmap gives me this: Running: Linux 2.4.X|2.5.X OS details: Linux 2.4.0 - 2.5.20
The web server in the router is micro_httpd http://unix.freshmeat.net/projects/micro_httpd/ which is BSD licensed. Now that being said this is by far the best SOHO router I've seen.
I use DynDNS for my domain hosting and their Mailhop: Forward service. The Mailhop service ROCKS. It can forward on a non standard port so you don't need to open port 25 and it queues mail if your connection goes away. You get reliable email on a somewhat reliable connection (i.e. my cable modem).
As another actual software developer I find that the MS dev tools are terribly overrated. Especially their editors. The editor makes you reach for the mouse way too often and it still dosen't let you analyze user.dmp files. It's too big to use when memory is low so I still use windbg (we call it "windbag") more then Dev Studio for debugging.
We don't know how often Yellowstone erupts since there is not enough evidence. You might want to check out the FAQ at the USGS site. http://volcanoes.usgs.gov/yvo/faqs2.html#3
Since the CMS interpreter needed to see a REXX comment in the first line of source and older ones wanted the first word to be REXX I put/* REXX the wonder dog */ in the first line of most of my scripts. On MVS I wrote a JCL parser in REXX when we were updating JCL to work with 3390 drives.
You'd probably be happy with one of the DVD recorders out there. Use it with DVD+/-RW disks and you've got the same functionality as a VCR. You can find them retail for about $300. Less if you search around on eBay.
My first PC type machine was one of the old generic CompUSA 386SX 16 boxes. I've replaced everything except the power cord from that machine so I still tell my wife I haven't really bought a new computer. It's just an upgrade.
Never listen to the investment firms. Their buy/sell/hold statements are based on what the firm holds not what is good for the investor.

Can't help ya there.
As a resident of Kansas I apologize for all the loonies here. We're not all like that.
Cheaper to hire - Cheaper to bribe.

You Fool! You're not supposed to think about that!
Peoplesofts Vantive is the most worthless software I've ever used. I hope Oracle kills it off.
Can the FTC block this because that's just too much evil in one place?

We keep hearing that HP is "committed" to OpenVMS on Itanium. We'll see it on the Opteron long before Itanium.
It looks to me like the only reason the Itanium is still around is that Intel can't afford the hit on their stock price if they cancel it.
... but it taint there!
Yea, it was supposed to be funny.

Am I the only one who thinks that picture looks like a whale?
Bluetooth is in universe. Search for bluez*. I just wish the gnome-bluetooth or kbluetooth stuff was available.
When I read this "Springtime for Hitler" started running through my head.

My wife is pretty dyslexic. She had a bit more trouble with it. Also, she said that when she was younger she couldn't have read it at all.
I've always preferred "Coders of Fortune".

Unfortunatly you can also blame the insurance companies for not covering the proper testing and treatment.
We're now one step closer to the Blue Toast of Death (BTOD).
