excellent, the simple solution then is remove Nestle execs rights to water, this problem will all be solved in under a month.

No I wouldn't, but then I am not running a multi million dollar design/engineering project that these are designed for nor do I have a spare quarter of a million to drop on a set of devices and implementation. All indications are sales and adoption have been pretty good thus far.

  3. ummm the US isn't even the top trading partner for china, the EU is and they are well diversified across many markets. Sure losing the US would be a major hit, but not compared to the hit the US would suffer from it.

  4. bypass government authority? Bitcoin is the perfect currency for china as it allows them to easily control it across the world rather than just within its borders.

ummmm I like Cntrl-alt-delete sequence. It is a system interrupt, the 3 key combination means you are not likely to accidentally hit it. It isn't a particularly onerous combination and the combo harkens back to when it used to be a reboot (definitely something you don't want to accidentally do).

I would not bet on its demise nor would I bet on it holding its value. The impact of the chinese shutdown is yet to be felt, it will depend heavily on how much dodgy money was being funnelled through bitcoin as a way to hide money leaving china, that impact won't be known for a while yet, nor will the impact of exchanges handing over all the details of buyers and sellers.

  8. They are actually between a rock and a hard place. Samsung don't excel at software, but it has become the only way to really differentiate your phone when the margins are being eroded on the hardware side.

  9. myth of avoiding airport on Ask Slashdot: What Would Happen If a Hyperloop Train Failed? · · Score: 1

The reality is you won't be avoiding the hassle of an airport as they will need to enforce the same strict rules and security for boarding a hyperloop as it would be just as susceptible to attack and loss of life and when/if something did go wrong you are basically fucked and the system will be out for weeks.

I can't see how this can be a serious risk, the people installing WSL to start with are a fraction of a fraction of the user base. Most people installing it aren't going to be your average users that install and accept any prompt. So realistically the install base is going to be so tiny and most of that base knows what they are doing so it won't be worth trying to even target

  24. At this point there is no real definition. Various companies, researchers and media have made such a fucking mess of the messenging from this space that anything that in anyway resembles a computer providing an answer to something a human would normally do is considered fucking AI.
