Low environmental impact!? How can they say that without the level of irony in their heads generating a cosmic singularity that swallows the entire earth? Here's a tip to any Microsoft executives or developers reading; most cities in the world are already developed. If you are wondering about how to implement "smart cities", you should be wondering about how to implement it upon already built and lived in cities, not new developments.

Not only that even in situations where face id WOULD work a fingerprint sensor is faster anyway, because your finger can have unlocked the phone before you've even bought it up to your face from your pocket. This is apple hurting usability to serve design once again. When the technology to have fingerprint scanners under the screen is finally ready they will look like fools.

Also deserts are growing faster than permafrost melts, so there is still a net loss of farmable land. Thirdly, human accelerated climate change will not give time for many species of plants and animals to adapt as they have in the past, leading to a global crash in biodiversity. That's not really true, the hardware in ps4 and Xbox one is highly customised, for instance Xbox one's APU has on die high speed dram, and the ps4 has an additional BUS that allows the gpu to directly address the cpu's L2 cache, to speed up gpu compute. There are many other differences as well if you care to look. If you wanted to run ps4/xb1 exclusive software on a pc you would need a very complicated software emulator and a powerful enough computer to overcome the missing hardware. Just because they are x86 doesn't mean that they're "pcs in a box" You can fit a porshe 911's engine into a vw camper, but does that make it a sports car? No.

Plus on the side is likely where the lock button is anyway and is where your thumb will naturally fall while taking the phone out of your pocket, so it will be already unlocked when you bring it up to your face. Unfortunately Sony are the only company that do this that I know of

If they didn't pay, their business would have been over, even if they didn't face litigation from (ex) clients they would have all left in droves.
