Click-to-play is not enough. We need click-to-download-and-play, because there's a new fad about making 150MB animated GIFs that should be in video format instead. And if we're not planning on watching the GIFs or the videos, it's wasted bandwidth for everyone involved.
My expert and legal opinion is that vanilla is better than chocolate except if you like strawberries, Mac is better than Windows except for games but Linux is better but only for servers, vi is better then emacs except Notepad is easier to use, Canada is better than the USA but still France and Japan are much cooler, Playstation is better than Xbox but Nintendo is more fun, blue is better than red yet ultraviolet is stronger.
I said "for over a decade", implying that Apple has used industry-standard ports on most of their Macs since even before their switch to Intel processors.
But yeah, I forgot about the Thunderbolt ports since all I use is the HDMI port on my Mac mini. I haven't used one of their laptops in ages so my comment about standard ports is probably invalid for most Macs too.

You seem to have a very selective memory about the iPhone vs Android story. Forget the GUI, forget the industrial design. Go back at the very beginning.
Android exists only because Eric Schmidt was on Apple's board of directors and knew about the iPhone before it launched. He then quit Apple's board and Android was revealed shortly after that.

And seeing how Apple is not taking care of their Mac users (no real Mac mini update since 2012, no Mac Pro updates in way too long, premium price for now sub-par components, i.e. slow 5400RPM HDDs, soldered and non-upgradable RAM, etc), the point of owning a Mac could soon cease to exist.
What's the best Linux or BSD for potential Mac switchers?
So because it's 15% of not much, it doesn't matter? How millions of smartphones are in use today? How many megawatts* of electricity is going to be wasted in the name of convenience? And in countries like the USA, that means a lot of pollution in the name of convenience.

I never connected an Apple-approved display nor an Apple-made or Apple-approved mouse into any of my Macs.
I do use made-for-Apple and made-by-Apple keyboards, if only to get the proper labels and function keys for OS X*.

Sounds like Android to me. Join Apple's board, steal iPhone idea, release own smartphone to compete with Apple.
Tim Cook seems to think an iPad can replace a computer for real work. I guess that's easy when all you need is Pages and Numbers.
