That's not the point, what I am saying is that police forces are starting to pursue copyright enforcement disproportionately to violent crime, that could be gun related or other murders, rapes, assaults etc. When victims are complaining that the police wont take their cases seriously enough (especially for 'smaller' crimes like mugging) you have to wonder where all that police time is going. Sure I don't expect them to ignore copyright infringement until every murder is solved but there do need to be more checks and balances to make sure certain crimes are not being pursued with more priority because they have lobby groups behind them. Don't forget that the 2,000 figure counts fire-arm injuries only, just carrying a gun around illegally in public as a gang is very serious even if that gang doesn't get into a fight every day or the retards miss their target and don't get a mention in the statistics year-book. Oh wait whats that? they're not planning a raid to take guns off the streets? they're going to instead concentrate solely on copyright infringement? oh, well, im sure that's pretty important too, I mean a few people getting shot doesn't really hurt the economy!

Phones are more 'normal' to use in public - you cant pull out your PDA in a restaurant or bar. Phones are becoming worthless to thieves because of contract deals and it being harder to tell if someone is using a cheap phone or an expensive phone from a distance. Nothing else comes close to this and that's the real reason why phones will take over.

This is most importantly, implementable today by private 'certification companies' without adding a single law and whats more it would work internationally without forcing countries to do anything, to top it off it would follow the philosophy of the internet entirely. But no, they want a mandatory X rating - whos going to make sure that absolutely every site out there follows this? whos going to enforce that across the world? Why the fuck would you risk letting your child see something that just happened to slip past a non-100% effective filter when the alternative is to create a massive allowed list that you can make absolutely sure is ok and even charge for the privileged! We all know what the Bill of Rights, the Geneva convention and the UN says about these things and yet its happening by the very country that is, aside from some European countries, the only viable model of civilised society to date (well unless anyone thinks the Taliban can do a better job).

Next don't forget that just because the site won't look good in an old browser doesn't mean it shouldn't work on some basic level.
